chat i need huntrix & saja boys to be on BUSTED. if you don't know about busted it's a variety show where korean celebrities play detectives (they each have a different detective persona, character, and backstory!) and they solve mysteries and puzzles together. like unmasking a serial killer who's hunting detectives, or finding a missing stage magician before he's murdered. as per this review, "The show is not afraid to have some of their characters work to solve a complex math problem while mere feet away their compatriots get pelted with a steady stream of water balloons."
it's a lot of the most beautiful women you've ever seen being geniuses, while the most beautiful men you've ever seen are being slapstick comedy himbos who get confused about basic math.
but sometimes there's also really suspenseful moments! in the last episode of the first season, one of the detectives is locked in a trailer with the bomb and the other detectives have to rescue him.
okay so: imagine our faves on busted post-canon and jinu is the damsel in distress for this episode. like, he's been kidnapped by the villain, trapped in a room filling with water, etc. the villain sends the detectives a photo of jinu chained and beat up, on the verge of facing his doom, and rumi forgets that this is just a variety show and LOCKS THE FUCK IN. solves every puzzle so fast they have to give her more. threatens the actor playing the villain with a knife she accidentally swiped from craft services. is she a little carried away? maybe. but seeing jinu in trouble and knowing that she could save him has awakened something dark and feral within her, and that something can solve a rubix cube in under a minute. by ripping it to shreds.
when she's got him unhooked from the death trap she flings herself into his arms, tears running down her face. and he's kissing her hands and her 'tattoos' like "i'm okay. feel my heartbeat. i'm right here, i'm safe."
meanwhile the entire production team is looking at each other like "?????" and Bobby is hissing "get the close-up!"
and that's how rujinu accidentally soft launch their soulmateism while wearing the stupidest little detective hats known to man
