Not all people are not what they appear to be on the surface. Marinette, unfortunately, doesn't seem to know that this includes herself.

“Auntie Delphine, do you know what my mommy is like?”
Delphine coughed out a puff of smoke when Calliope asked her this. She quickly puts out her cigarette once her coughing fit was finished. “Callie, darling, isn’t this something you should ask your father, not me?” Telling her what her mother’s like isn’t supposed to be her area. Mainly because she doesn't want to tell her and have her brother tell her.
Calliope pouted, “I never get an answer from Daddy. Whenever I asked him about her, he would then start crying and won’t answer me.” Gods know how many times Eugene had done this in front of his daughter.
Now as much as she loved her baby brother Eugene, there are times when Delphine just wants to strangle his neck with this being one of them. But at the same time, she can’t stay real mad at him given that he was used by that woman. Delphine pinched the bridge of her nose as she muttered, “Can’t believe he’s making me do this.” The fashion socialite opened up her laptop and typed in something.
“Come here, sweetheart,” she motioned Calliope to come to sit by her. The 5-year-old blonde did what her aunt asked, leaning against her. She saw that her aunt pulled up a picture of a pretty woman, with blonde hair and blue eyes. “Alright, honey. You see this woman in the middle?”
She nodded, Delphine continued on. “That’s your mother. Her name is Audrey and she is a very famous person in the fashion world.”
“Like you and Daddy?”
“Something along those lines. Just not as famous as us,” Delphine muttered the last part to herself. She then closed her laptop and grabbed her niece’s shoulders, smiling while looking at her. Calliope thankfully only got Audrey’s blonde hair, just much lighter. The rest is from her and Eugene’s family. “Callie, what do you want to be when you’re older?”
The preschooler decided to take the chance to hug her socialite of an aunt before answering with, “I wanna be like you and Daddy! You get to make pretty clothes for people and I wanna do that too!”
You most likely wouldn’t hear her say this, but Delphine’s heart skipped a beat when she heard that.
“In that case, how about I give you an exclusive tour of our workplace today after breakfast?”
Calliope had stars in her eyes, “Really?” She then got off the bed and bolts out the door, heading downstairs.
Once she made sure Calliope was out of sight, Delphine took out a picture of a young Audrey posing with a younger version of her and sneered that the photo. The brunette burnt Audrey’s face ages ago, prior to Calliope’s birth. Oh, how she wishes it was the real thing, but she simply has more important things in mind.
Things that will hurt this horrid woman more than a cigarette burn could ever.
Something that would demean her. Ruin her. Mentally and socially.
“It’ll be freezing in hell before she becomes anything like you, ya succubus. I’ll make sure of that.”
