this was such a cute way to show passage of time and the transition of nick getting into his volunteer work and if we do not get a transition like this in the movie i will throw a fit, actually. nick's little smile. also ! his eyebrow is healed. i was sincerely hoping nick would keep his sexy eyebrow scar forever.
this arrangement of panels are just too cute. nick looks so in his element and happy for the first time for most of this book. im so pleased by this turn of events, actually. but do you wanna know what i'm even more pleased by?
this. idk what its called but my intepretation is that this dog represents where nick was at before now and in taking care of this dog, nick will take care of himself too. biscuit also looks a bit like a golden retriever so im wondering if he inspires narlie to get daisy later
okay listen i know everyone is probably sick of my "nick is neurodivergent and a lot of his issues come from how hard he masks" but like dude i feel like my theory is getting some backing. we havent' seen a nick ramble in... forever, honestly. bc he's been masking and putting on airs for sooo long. and you know what. look at that smile on Charlie's face. he. missed. his. boyfriend. the rambly one, the chatty one, the overemotional guy. ugh it makes me so sick but in a good way you know.
this was v teenage couple of them. although, as someone who has worked in a dog shelter, i know 100% that nick smells fucking RANK RIGHT NOW. like dog pee and fur and probably doo-doo as well and Charlie still tried to yoink him. i love how nick fully reacts like a big dog who has never been picked up in his life, he looks so stiff and afraid. bless him. i think it'd be funny if this spurred on a tiny little "charlie spring goes to the gym to get strong so he can pick up his boyfriend" arc. which could be a good body positive message abt going to the gym to get stronger vs look a certain way. and i may be biased but nick should go to the gym with him, you know... for inspiration.

Snowpiercer S4 giving us Josie, Layton, and Zarah co-parenting Liana just to murder Zarah in the first episode so Liana could have only two parents and Layton could have a storyline... that wrapped up in the most unsatisfying way imaginable... instead of finding a way to keep Zarah alive or have a different plot... supervillain origin story tbh...
