Can I rant? Like, just a smidge.
Some regressors, MIND THE SOME, treat caregivers like toys instead of people. It's like, genuinely concerning. I've seen people come into DMs or asks, straight up asking for the person to be their caregiver without even getting to know them??
They aren't toys you can ask for. You can't go up, and ask for them like they're the newest fad... They're people who deserve care, and love, and respect most of all. And a lot of caregiving dynamics I've seen are toxic against the caregiver. It's so concerning??
And also how I used to be treated in regression servers for talking about my caregivers how I did..
Like, huge example; I love buying my papa food. I'll buy a good chunk of the meals for us while we're out, and while not all of it, I do. This is small, you'd do this for a friend or family member, right? But in some of the old servers I was in, I probably would've gotten told that it was wrong, he should be doing it all for me, and I shouldn't even offer emotional support when he feels upset and like..
Do these people see caregivers as people? It genuinely seems like they want a nanny bot that's warm. It's so, genuinely concerning. I need these people to know, like genuinely take it in, that regressors should care for their caregivers too.
Make sure they're okay, make them feel happy, buy them something if you have the means. It doesn't even have to mirror theirs. I've seen caregivers talk about how they'd love to just unwind with their little one, that that relaxes them. Small checks ins, which i do a lot, asking if they're okay and feel alright. Gifts, handmade or not. Quality time together, promises, and small things about "promise to love you forever" and reassurances, that are followed through with
Maybe I'm being dramatic, maybe things have changed, but...
I dunno. It bugs me
