I cant begin to explain how disheartening it is to work so hard on a piece of writing and get nothing in return. Simply “liking” a post doesn’t do anything for a writer. We all know it’s basically the equivalent to just a bookmark. It gives writers no feedback, no constructive criticism, no encouragement, no movement within the community to reach other readers, no ideas if it’s something more people want to see, nothing. And to be completely honest, readers not giving feedback is why 85% of fanfic writers (at least that I and many others had grown to love) are no longer writing on this platform - or are severely declining in numbers.
