Hey baby beans!

I’ve gotten some asks in my inbox asking if I’m doing promos, the simple answer is no.

The long answer is:

When I shout out artists or other writers, it’s because I genuinely love the work they put out and think it has a place on my blog, and needs more attention.

Not that I’m trying to say anyone who’s asked for a promo in the past isn’t worthy of attention/ isn’t capable.

I will be very happy to check out your stories for my advice, or just to have someone else read it over. Evan if you just want to say “tofu, lookie, I did a thing!” I swear I will be so excited to read what you’ve got to say! But listen to me: I want to focus on your work, not the blog.

Idk I don’t want to seem rude and the people who have asked were very polite, but I’m telling you now, it annoys me when I think I will be able to have a moment of interaction and fun with my baby beans and instead it’s a promo request.

The reason I didn’t answer the blogs in my inbox directly is because I don’t want witch hunts or anything. I understand how the random up down flow of engagement with your stories can be frustarating. Trust me, I of all people know that it can be discouraging when you think you write a banger and it flops. But I really want y’all to know, keep writing, the people that enjoy your content will follow. This sounds tacky, but I promise you organically growing a following is much more rewarding.

TL;DR?

If I like your content, I’ll reblog it. Most of what goes on this blog if tofu twin related, evidently. If you’d like to let me know you have a story you’d think I’d like, I’d be thrilled to read it! I love having chats with fellow writers, especially food fantasy writers since we’re not that abundant.

But I do not appreciate promo requests in my inbox. If you’re one of the blogs who sent a request, I’m not mad or anything. I just don’t like promo requests in my inbox, a place where I can talk/interact with my baby beans.

Instead, hit up my inbox and talk to me, show me some of your works! I’ll be happy to talk with you! Chances are if it’s tofu twin related, I’ll like it! But I’m beggin you babes, do not to ask for a shout out.

PSA: Just because you haven’t seen your fav idol/band lately doesn’t mean they’re not busy/at work/making stuff for you. 

The idea that certain companies would actively prevent their staff from doing their jobs (with no reasoning - just with fan assumption that the company ‘doesn’t like’ said idol and so won’t give them any work) is a bit of a stretch.

This is capitalism baby, they WANT to make money, they’re not sitting there with a masterplan to prevent your baby from doing promo, why would it benefit them to not use the talent they have invested in? (I know there are bands that have been silenced - mostly female bands - but we’re talking about *massive* industry earners here - and male idols at that 🙄). Also, people have breaks and go on holiday. Companies have no reason to tell you they have plans for your idol.
