as a christmas present I got myself that fancy shower gel and hair conditioner that they had in the hotel I stayed at in szczecin (the one that I stole in empty travel bottles 😭)

In all the shit of American politics, we have a victory
Wisconsin, my home state, just overturned the 176 year old abortion ban. This law has been effect since 1849, one year after Wisconsin joined the Union. The court decision was 4-3. I voted for that 4th judge in April. It was the first election I could vote in. It feels amazing.
The battle isn’t over. There is going to be major pushback.
But it’s progress in the shit that is America right now. It’s just sad that it is overshadowed by all the bad. I can’t celebrate all that much because I got to worry about alligator Alcatraz or the big ugly bill
guys do you think we've reached the pinnacle of pain in hmtb?

me babbling between study sessions bc yes so don’t mind me bye
growing up I found out that being alone was the hardest thing ever to endure. I would find something to fill that void I was constantly feeling inside me. It was like a cloud surrounding me and it pressured me so hard I would start to panic and realize that I was indeed utterly alone. All by myself. No one was there. And I had to be with me. Put up with myself. And it’s really hard when you hate yourself deep down to the core.
But growing up I also realized that I wasn’t that bad. I was just going through changes. I was blooming. Mutating. And I needed to get to know myself better to start appreciating my own presence. Now I don’t need to smother that ominous reminder. I actively try to have time with just myself.
It’s really strange how something I used to dread is now something kinda luxurious. Having time for myself. Having time with myself. Yes. Alone. But not lonely. Because I have me. And I know I have others in my life that love and care about me, and I cherish them all. Even if they are not there. Even if they don’t fill every single minute, or second of this silence.
I learned to listen.

Thank god it's Friday. This week has been ridiculously long. Therapy during the fifth heatwave(? Idk I lost count of how many we've had now), dentist for my teeth cleaning, a full shift at the Research centre, booking in for my tooth extraction next month, receiving and having to deal with a really rude email, applying for a volunteering gig as a tour guide, the bank screwing up the money I paid-in.
I'm proud of myself for not crashing out during the really stressful moments. Might treat myself for surviving by finally posting the second chapter of Staying Still later today, if I have the chance to give it one last re-read 🫡
can we bully tumblr for the old footer back too btw
