Realizing that MHHUMS is perhaps using the characters of hlvrai as archetypes for my own story that's still trying to engage with the themes of hlvrai at large and can't be turned into an original work bc it's still very much intertwined with the story it's based on, but at the same time maybe I'm taking the "characters are vehicles for storytelling" too far

I think what I'm getting at here is that I need to get better at writing other people's characters
