The funniest thing that happened to me recently is that I was gushing to my best friend about the recently released Murderbot Diaries book and they were like “recently released???”. So anyway it turns out that he thought that Murderbot Diaries was written in the 1960s purely on the basis that I really liked it. Which like, fair (see obsession with Classic Doctor Who, Thunderbirds, The Beatles, Star Trek: TOS, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, Stingray, etc.) but also. Oof.

Istg if this is the series that makes me like Optimus Prime (￣￣|||)

Absolute standout is the art style by far. I knew the moment I saw it, that I'd fall in love, but some of these panels are so creative, I want to do an art study on it so bad haha.

The Cybertronian cultural insights we're getting are very cool, I can't wait to see the family dynamics they use in more detail. We got a little of that in IDW2 with the mentorship tradition, so I'm excited to see where this goes.

I feel so bad for Soundwave, dealing with his poor Ravenge and still being the only con online with more than two elections to rub together. Ngl tho, Starscream is an unhinged bitch and I love her ( ´ ∀ `)ノ～ ♡

I’m listening to the BBC radio play adaptation of Lord of the Rings, and I love the way Denethor reads the lines: “(Sauron) will not come save to triumph over me when all is won. He uses others as his weapons-- so do all great lords if they are wise, master halfling. Or why should I sit here in my tower and think, and watch, and wait.......spending even my sons....?”

Like-- the way he begins by speaking with CERTAINTY, but then grows gradually less sure of himself as he goes on, saying the lines “spending even my sons” in this quiet, guilt-ridden voice....
