Cabin 14: Iris 🌈🪽
Wow. Patrick saying the most heartbreaking things about the writing process on save rock and roll, how he had to submit to outside ideas and he felt like he got his keys taken away after what happened with soul punk and he was being watched more closely by producers and how after that album he felt that he was writing for other people and what he thought they wanted from him
And then saying,
"Stardust was letting myself put me in there"
the seven + other guys
I find it really funny how the Iris cabin - where the two canonical kids are BUTCH AND BLANCHE - is still stereotyped in fanon as being all pastels and chalk art and soft indie music and passivity and wind chimes.
Like 2 kids who fully are the opposite of the aesthetic stereotypes are our only canonical iris children - and they're both sick of being stereotyped to the point it affects their appearance. It's literally talked about in The Lost Hero (and chalice of the gods apparently but I honestly haven't read it yet although Blanche seems cool af)
Like Iris is a communication goddess in the same way Hermes is. If people could stop hearing Rainbows and pegasi and going ahhh you sweet pastel loving softie there would be so much cool stuff you could do with the concept of a child of Iris. Limited levels of telepathy? A child of Iris who is a politician due to their great mass communication skills? A biker kid who realises that their riding skills are due to their natural abilities to fly pegasi? Godly parentage doesnt equate to aesthetic and I fear the PJO fandom forgets this sometimes
Anyways can you tell that I like to think I'd be in the Iris cabin and get sick of seeing the same 15 photos in the "aesthetic packs" when theres so much cool stuff that could be done?
