High key been obsessed with the idea of hairy Italian Nico ever since you’ve turned me in to the idea (in every sense of the word), and even though I’m writing another Solangelo fic, any hcs you have about it would be great since I just can’t get a bough and no one else write him like that. <3<3

Hahaha. Thanks for the ask! It was fun to sit down and write up some ideas around Nico with body hair and how that'd play out. 

He had an olive complexion as a young child and only got pale after retreating to the Underworld and going through the traumas we see him face in canon. 

His voice deepened young - at around 12 or 13, and, at the same time, he developed a pattern of disordered eating which stunted his growth, made the hair on his head lackluster and greasy and fed into his body-image issues. 

I headcanon him having a major growth spurt the summer after Blood of Olympus - where he started eating healthy and making friends and finding a home at Camp Half-Blood. The hair on his head regained its body, thickened up and became harder to tame. 

He'd always had a fine downy layer of body hair on his chest, back, and tummy, though it was light and peach-fuzzy. But that summer, it got dark and soft, curly on his chest, not thick, but plentiful, thinning at his ribs and then darkening and growing thicker around his navel and lower. 

He wasn't thrilled about it, though he also wasn't surprised having been around hairy uncles and cousins in his early years. 

He deals with it by always wearing a shirt, even when swimming (not so much because he hates it, he doesn't really care, but he doesn't want to risk becoming a social pariah again for yet another thing he has no control over.) 

His facial hair started coming in at the same time, mostly his mustache, but he'd diligently shave it every morning before anybody could notice. - After he sensed Jason's death and fell back into a depressive spiral and disordered eating again, his hair growth slowed and he didn't need to shave as often. 

I dunno. I picture him getting hairier on his arms and legs, shoulders and back as he gets older. 

As a teen, when he finally starts feeling better again, taking control of his life and working on his mental health with Dionysus, he stops worrying about other people seeing him shirtless. 

The younger boys and some of the older ones go off about how they wish they could grow chest hair too. 

Will finds Nico's chest hair hot and manly and he's also a little miffed because the men in his family hardly grow any body hair. Nico calls Will his Care Bear because of his sun glow powers (which is canon and hilariously silly) and Will calls Nico his snuggle bear. If he can't grow body hair himself, he'll enjoy it vicariously through his boyfriend. 

By the time Nico is 16, he's got a five o'clock shadow and everybody's crushing on him. He makes up for his shorter stature with that chiseled, manly jaw-line. 

Watching Nico sparring shirtless in the summer draws an enormous crowd of watchers. Muscles gleaming in the sun, his dark hair and eyes boring straight into his opponent's soul and then he'll stop and grin at the people watching and just melt everybody into a puddle. 

Will hires Blanche - Daughter of Iris and master of photography to do a set of black and white shots with Nico as the model so he can have a Nico pin-up calendar on the wall in the Infirmary. 

Okay. That's quite enough. I hope you find my headcanons inspirational.
