"Tempt You (Evocatio)" by Nothing But Thieves came on my shuffle this morning and it gave me some serious Joe/Nicky vibes. Not sure if you've heard it, but I read somewhere that they wrote the song about Roman sieges on walled cities. Made me think of your fic and the ship in general. Reccing it and also casually saying thanks again for that amazing piece of storytelling.

Aha, I’ve not heard it, but now I will definitely have to listen to it. (Also, if anyone has a Joe/Nicky playlist, feel free to drop a link to it in the comments, because I am deeply interested in this for inspirational reasons.) This would clearly give me feelings about chapter 4, which in some ways gives me the most feelings out of the whole fic, so yes.

Not one very recently but several years ago I wrote a pretty long story and the ending made me cry because I killed off the main character like a fool
