Do you buy australian made clothing? Right now (as in, today) the Australian government is desperately seeking any clothing manufacturer with an ultrasonic fabric welding machine, something commonly used to make raincoats. Ive been phoning everybody i know, to see if they know a factory that still has one. But things aren't looking good. Our nation may be left with no option but to provide many hospitals with regularly sewn Personal Protective Equipment, aka #PPE. By not buying Australian made waterproof clothing, but accepting Chinese made garments from supposedly "Australian" brands, each of us (not the government, but you and me) has left this country deprived of an important piece of equipment. It is you and I who must share the blame if doctors or nurses lives are lost because we were not self sufficient as a manufacturing nation. This time it's a virus. Next time it might be a war. If Pride swim thrives long term as a business, you can be sure we will reinvest profits in building this nation's capacity to produce its own clothing. Right now we make a garment type, #swimwear, that symbolises our national pride and requires specialised equipment to apply rubber. In a few years time we hope to have the capacity to make the essentials for further global crises if they occur. #buyaustralian #buylocal #supportlocal #supportaustralianmade #australianmadefashion #australiafirst #swimwear #tan #fitnessmodel #bikini #australianmadefashion #twopiece #manufacturing #covid_19 #wuhanvirus #madeinaustralia #fashionindustry #fashion #lycra #ethicalfashion #ethicalfashionblogger #boycottchina #americafirst #strongwoman #girlpower (at Newcastle, New South Wales) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-L86pUD1jr/?igshid=1vmfqn87utitd
