One of my favourite Australian Aboriginal proverbs is “Those who have lost dreaming are lost.”#SurvivorDay I would like to acknowledge that I am on the traditional lands of the people of the Bundjalung Nation and I pay my respect to Elders both past, present and future. As a Foster Carer I was exposed to the trauma and stigma that resulted from the #stolengeneration experience. So I understand why #SurvivorDay is so important. And I know #InvasionDay is an accurate sentiment as the mother of my foster children is one of the last remaining people of her tribe. Sadly there is also a disproportionate number of indigenous children in out of home care which is at a crisis level and our needs attention and empathy.
