DnD cosmology and the afterlife can get SUPER fucked up sometimes even for people who weren’t evil
if you don’t believe me you should look up The Wall of Faithless
#or like what if you regret your life at the end but die before you can make up for it or change to a different diety#do you just get sent to one of the various different hells anyway#stuck there forever#or worse do you become a larvae#and your only chance at respite from suffering is the claw and maim your way until you get promoted to a different kind of demon#working your way up the chain until you're stuck as a demon lord#i have to look more in-depth but i'm also pretty sure i saw that good souls can just be#stolen#sometimes#by demons#and you're stuck in hell until an archon or celestial or whatever can rescue you#if you do get rescued#and don't end up as yet another larvae#look i'm super down with imperfect afterlives or cosmologies that aren't necessarily wholly good or evil#but that just feels like#gross and cruel#like you can believe in gods but if you don't choose a particular one you become part of a wall forever#that could easily happen to Ed#he believes in dieties sure but he may purposefully not choose a particular one#so does Ed just get turned into part of a writhing wall of souls?#ew
