six lines for sunday
A few more than six, I suppose.
Aedan and Miranda, after they pick up Jack at Purgatory:
o-o-o-o-o
Miranda waited for the door to cycle behind the prison escapee before she objected, “She’s a maniac with no control. Her biotic field is nothing but chaos. Surely you aren’t seriously thinking about using her on mission?”
Shepard leveled a cool stare at her but Miranda held her ground on her side of the table and finally, Shepard answered. “We’re heading to that ping we got on the Blood Pack. Deserted planet, some sort of indigenous critter. I’ll run her paces before I use her on anything delicate.”
“We’ll be lucky if she doesn’t tear the ship apart on a whim.” Surely Shepard wasn’t intentionally endangering the crew.
“She’s on the ship, for god’s sake, she isn’t stupid. She’s fine. Feed her, keep her happy and we’ll see.” Aedan twitched a shoulder, “It’s working for me, isn’t it?”
“You can’t destroy things with your mind, Shepard.”
A low, humorless laugh sent a shiver up Miranda’s spine. The ruddy reflection of circuitry in the steel grey eyes was...disconcerting. Miranda hated that she knew exactly what had gone wrong with Shepard’s rebuild and that she could still see it, now. Months after becoming conscious, she should have been whole by now.
The Illusive Man was constantly telling her she needed to work harder to make Shepard whole.
“You don’t have a fucking clue what I could do if I really got tired of you.” Shepard followed her foundling out of the conference room.
That plesiosaur fossil hanging from the ceiling? Very cool. And also makes me that little bit extra nervous of it being foreshadowing. I remember like 12% of my childhood dinosaur obsession, but I do remember plesiosaurs were definitely aquatic.
Also, I may be in a Dishonored mindset lately, but why does Dr Garrett Bryson give me some strong Arkane Face vibes? He's got the tired wrinkly look going on. Bet he graduated from the Academy of Natural Philosophy.
Woke up to find earwax plugging up my right ear and it's got me feeling like I'm Wally Schirra on Apollo 7.
Pass reference by reference in python
Pass reference by reference in python
Is it possible in python to pass a reference by reference? In C++, the python model of passing data can be mimicked by passing a pointer to the data: the pointer is passed by value, and the function can change whatever it points to, but the function cannot change the value of the pointer. However, in C++ you can also pass a reference to the pointer, in which case you can modify the pointer…
