yqy would make it an act of worship/repentence (but he ofc doesnt tell shen jiu what for and shen jiu twists it into an act of bribery for his silence). Repentence for not being the one to carry shen jiu away from qui manor, and instead shen jiu having to escape by his own feet. and maybe worship for sqq’s strength to stand strong and proud after what he went through. luo binghe would just suck some toes

consider this: liu qingge accidentally destroys his robes during a night hunt in the demon realm and so he has to settle with wearing robes that aren’t his normal bai zhan style and are much more… revealing (boob window!!!) than he’s used to, but he’s not shy about his body so he doesn’t think too much of it. on his way back to luo binghe’s palace, he finds himself being invited to spar by more strangers than he ever has in his entire life (he wins all of them, naturally).

when he finally shows up to lbh’s palace, all eyes are on his chest robes. lbh finally speaks after chugging three bottles of vinegar and dismissing all of his attendants, commenting on how he was unaware that his shishu was into demonic fashion trends. shen qingqiu lightly whacks lbh’s arm for teasing his shishu like this, but lbh gives sqq a pointed look in response (after all, there was no mistaking how tight sqq’s grip on the base of his fan became after lqg walked in wearing Another Demon’s Robes).

lqg meanwhile is just like oh these? I forgot to pack a spare pair of robes in my qiankun pouch. and then brings out the hide from the monster he killed on the way there because it’s supposed to have special qi-enhancing properties and he knows sqq will appreciate hearing all about the monster it came from.

sqq is momentarily distracted by lqg’s story but lbh is much more interested in getting lqg into a spare pair of lbh’s own black-and-red robes that are slightly too big for their beloved war god. he insists on helping him change (and takes way longer than necessary to adjust his belt, not to mention continuously dragging his hands across lqg’s chest…). sqq then “accidentally” spends nearly half an incense time with his fingers carding through lqg’s hair with the excuse that he saw a leaf in his hair and he must ensure his shidi looks presentable for dinner….

I got back into art this year after a few years of not drawing and I feel like I grew so much as an artist. Thank you to everyone who likes, comments, and reblogs my art—it’s one of the things that keeps me drawing, knowing that there’s people that enjoy seeing my art, even when I myself am not fully satisfied with how something turns out.

Looking back like this also helps to put my progress as an artist into perspective. It can be super discouraging to go out of your comfort zone and explore new techniques, styles, and subjects (for me it’s backgrounds), and to see dips in the quality of your work. But putting my art side by side, I can see how these dips in ‘quality’ precede improvement. These aren’t my best pieces from the year, but what I consider landmarks of my art journey.
