I may be curious what Phillipe's relationship with his father (M'Byleth) look like. Would he get along with Byleth like Jeralt did tho
Using the CF ending for this one, with a new inherited design. I'm kinda in this limbo of inheriting the father's hair colour and mother's eyes.

The idea of Philippe sewing his father units' symbols onto his clothing has been circling in my mind a lot lately. Feels like something he'd do, especially since most of the clothes he wears he tailored from his mom's old stuff. Keeps both parents close to the heart, you know?
Fallen Star, Rising Son
His relationship with his father would be limited at the start. With Byleth away fighting those who slither in the dark while Dorothea stayed behind to care for the house and baby, there wouldn't be much time in the early years to spend with the man. Philippe would likely have met him somewhere around 2 years old, perhaps a little more.
Starting off with just his mother and the members of the household that knew of him, he would have to learn to be comfortable with Byleth as his emotions slowly start to grow more overt with time. The lack of Sothis' crest stone keeping him somewhat stifled would make it a lot easier for Byleth to express his love for his son through expression - something a toddler would need in those impressionable early years.
However, that quieter demeanor of his would also effect his boy, giving Philippe a slight introverted tilt on his interactions with other people. He may be sociable to a degree, but that social battery would drain far faster than by default and result in him bidding his friends adieu to go be alone a while.
In addition, the love his parents share for one another would make him even pickier about the sort of person he'd want to spend the rest of his life with. Harmless flirting is rarely harmless; feelings are bound to grow at some point.
Byleth would naturally support his son's desire to become a knight, even giving him pointers on how Jeralt used to fight on horseback. Sharing what he knows about Jeralt would build something of an interest in the man for Philippe, resulting in moments together when he and his father would sit and chat about how things used to be during his mercenary days. In doing so, Philippe would not only develop a greater appreciation of his father but also his grandfather who worked as hard as he did to care for Byleth all alone.
It would not only drive him to incorporate more of the Blade Breaker's style into his repertoire as a mounted soldier, but also inadvertently make Philippe a little more interested in the notion of having a child of his own one day.
