you know what yeah, i’m always down to glaze the hopes designs some more. let’s talk about the wolves

okay. addressing the elephant in the room first. both of yuri’s outfits are so fucking goofy and i don’t know what happened there. i know you’re not meticulously applying purple eyeshadow after dressing like a CLOWN, mr leclerc. get your shit together. with that being said hopes wins here, he still looks like a jester but at least the jester look is very cohesive and actually kind of cunty. also i like the ponytail instead of whatever’s happening in houses

okay. unexpected maple move here. i’m gonna go houses on this one. i know that both of these outfits are based on her different “canon classes” in both games, and that there aren’t any dark fliers in three hopes and so it makes more sense for her fit to be more gremory-like, but i still WAY prefer the dark flier silhouette with the shorter dress and the long shoes. i also way prefer the cravat to her weird scarf, and i think the longer hair looks more regal and noble on her. in hopes she kind of looks like a dork idk!!!! rare houses W

hopes hopes hopes. same reasoning as caspar and raphael, he’s just here to grapple. also the bandana and funky mullet look suits him REALLY well, i think they’re a lot of fun. in houses his iconic dick holster looks really weird and i think it looks way better in hopes, and also uhhhhh i hate his nipple tubes. i appreciate that both designs feature his boobs and that his dick is accentuated in both also. i love balthus 💕

hopes and it’s not even close. i don’t know what they were smoking when they designed her war look but it’s really weird to me 😭😭😭 why is she wearing a boob separator??? why is she wearing a circlet???? what’s going on here???? i really really like how spiky she is in hopes, it calls back to her association with monsters in a really fun way esp with the claw-like structure on the side. it just feels more like something she would wear (though in my personal opinion both are a little over-sexualized for who her character is? could just be me)

okay so in total out of the 28 character designs changed in hopes, 21 were improvements imo. it’s been fun talking about these, this made me remember how much i love yapping about character design, which is actually what i started my blog around lmao. feel free to send me more character/costume design-related asks, they’re so much funnnnn
