@talviste
The sweep of brown hair immediately caught Ailsa’s eye. She was good at remembering people, but the young man’s face was impossible to place. Was he at that disastrous wedding, or maybe she had seen him on some city street... She didn’t know many humans though. She didn’t like not knowing for sure.
She approached him, making a point to move gently. “Forgive me, I think I’ve seen you around before, but I can’t place how I would know you,” Ailsa said, eyes bright and smile soft. ”Have you visited the High Court recently?”
@thequincypride continued from here
“ You could have died you idi-- ot--! ” his sentence was cut off by a fit of coughing that left him with a sharp ache in his chest. He wasn’t supposed to be getting this worked up, he’d just gotten out of surgery a few hours ago. He was supposed to be resting. Still, he couldn’t bring himself to care. He was too upset to care. Too raw to be rational. “ D-Did you even think about that!? You’re the one who always tells me to think ahead! You’re the one who’s always telling me how dangerous my boyfriend is! Why couldn’t you follow your own fucking advice?! ”
The teen was shaking at this point, whether by anger or grief, he could not tell. He didn’t know how to deal with this. This was all too much. He almost died today. His friend almost died today. They almost died by his boyfriend’s hands.
any fun timebuddies ramblings you'd like to share? 👀
HI KAT YES OFCC !!
I think that whenever they have some downtime post loops, they like to take naps together, because that's where they feel safest
they like to nap together because it's a nice reminder that the time loops are no longer, they can rest and have the time to do so, no longer interrupted every 22 minutes
I also am quite fond of the idea what Gabbro can sing very well but much prefers the quiet hum of their flute so they just end up playing that most of the time, so maybe they'll sing a little tune or two to their buddy every once in a while

Ailsa was wandering. She didn’t know where Giselle was, or Aiden, or Sorcha, or Kirk, or anyone she cared about. Saying that taking initiative was her strong suit would be stretching the truth by no small amount, but she didn’t know how to just sit and wait for someone to appear when there was a possibility they may never do so.
She tried hard to not think about that.
But in that moment, through the crowd of people, she saw the tall, broad figure of her brother. “Kirk!” she shouted. She rarely did such a thing and her voice cracked. Her feet were already carrying her in that direction and she pushed through a cluster a people.
@aidenmacalistair
Ailsa prided herself on being able to keep herself together, even when it felt like everything around her was chaos. The wedding was the exception. It was the one thing to break her facade, but she was better now.
Or she thought she was until she spotted a slight figure that was nearly as recognizable as her own reflection. She ran, picking up her skirts to help her move faster, and jumped, throwing her arms around Aiden’s neck.
“Oh, are you alright?” Her eyes were wet and shiny, and the only explanation she could offer was a rush of relief. “I couldn’t find you or Kirk or Sorcha....” Her voice broke and she took a second to swallow the aching lump in her throat, trying to find some sense of composure. “I was so scared, I was so worried...”
@giselleendiron
Ailsa was standing in front of a mirror. She swept pieces of her hair back into place, guided others to fall just carefully enough that it didn’t look too clean. Her gut still felt twisted into knots, though she didn’t understand why it should when she wasn’t the one who was going to have to stand before the high court. She turn back around, back to her duties of attending to the queen.
“A servant informed me that the preparation for your address is going smoothly, so you should be able to speak when you are ready to.” Ailsa worked hard to keep her voice even, keep her brogue-ish as polished as she could. After a pause, she asked, “How you you feel?” It was a question that masked the real one floating around in her mind, are you ready?
