C-3PX (Modified Cybot Galactica 3PX-Series Protocol Droid)

C-3PX was a heavily modified protocol droid bounty hunter. He was initially used by Darth Maul, then by the Empire but was acquired by a criminal and finally upgraded to serve as a merciless killing machine, pursuing C-3PO and R2-D2 at one point.

This was a custom funko I did for C-3PX, design inspired by Kilian Plunkett cover art for Droids #3. C-3PX is a legends protocol droid that Darth Maul customised and worked with during his time as Darth Sidious's apprentice.

I was originally looking for more comicbook accurate with multiple guns, but I struggled to find weapons small enough that could fit in a hidden compartment.

Parts:

The weapons came from United Bricks; a Lego accessory store, the ammunition belt was faux leather and cut-up pieces of cotton buds, the 'X' was done with airdry clay and then I added a layer of acrylic paint for the eyes, the 'X' and around the joints to darken the model and make it look more sinister.

C-3PX is an assassin droid in the expanded Star Wars universe, built from the same protocol template as the famous C-3PO. 

Manga Studio's getting easier every week. I feel like it's improved my inking, both digitally and with a real brush. Really enjoying the project so far!
