This is my personal collection of comics, graphics, and mangas relating to Maul and some of his companions that offer insight into his character. This collection is not extensive but purely based on my preferences and will probably be extended in the future.

Similar to the novels, a lot was retconned and changed over the years after the disney buy out, you may notice some inconsistency between the Dark Horse Versions and Marvel when you read through them.

Star Wars: Darth Maul: Sons of Dathomir (Marvel 2017/ Dark Horse 2014)

This cancelled storyline for the Clone Wars animated series season 7 explores where we left off in the season finale with Maul in the clutches of Darth Sidious, being interrogated for information about his newly acquired allies and resources. It quickly turns into a chase when Maul manages to escape with the help of his super commandos and leads Dooku back to Dathomir, where mother Talzin is waiting with a plan of her own.

like. what was the empire's beef with maul's right hip specifically? (I gave him a new outfit cause he deserves it :D partially inspired by his TPM look but also not really) and to the @maul-appreciation-week mods, thank you for running this event !!! <3

Maul takes his lived experience and puts it to good use to adopt his daughter apprentice. How responsible of him to try and do it legally! He’s already miles ahead of his horrible parental figures!

I don’t know what would be funnier, Sidious and Talzin going to an actual court or them having a vicious galactic custody battle that spans systems and has thousands of casualties and comically stops like a tom and Jerry bit when the Jedi turn around. Either way poor baby maul is getting dragged around all over the place. Said it before and I’ll say it again: the only way Sidious and Talzin could be worse parents than they already are is if they fucking hate each other. Unfortunately for Maul, all canonical evidence points to that being the case.

This was an especially fun comic to draw but it took me like 3 weeks because I’m a) doing artfight, b) moving 3,000 miles in a month, and c) trying to plan 3 trips with entirely different sets of people. Hopefully once things settle down this fall I’ll have more time to draw lol

More Maul studies! Slowly but surely I’m dialing him in. I’m trying to work towards more expressiveness. his proportions are really tricky, but I really enjoy the gaunt look of Rebles Maul. Experimenting with different ways to draw the eyes…just playing as usual. Just love him a lot.

ok so i was thinking abt the nightbrothers again. so assuming that their horns are actually antlers they could theoretically carve them without it hurting, and the carvings would stay until the horns fell off and new ones grew in. like this:

i just love the idea of carvings having particular meanings and its so sweet to imagine icarus and scorn doing each others horn carvings or convincing maul to let them do his. they could even theoretically drill holes in the horns and have permanent jewelry/piercings. so many possibilities!

Darth Maul had several opportunities to kill him and the first time he defeated Kenobi he realized, “This doesn’t make me feel better.” It didn’t make him feel any better. “Okay, what if I torture him psychologically? What if I kill the woman this loves?” It doesn’t make him feel better either. He knows 100% that it’s that guy, there’s something about that guy that will heal me. And that’s where Darth Maul is correct. The one part that he has right is that Obi-Wan Kenobi can heal him, just not quite in the way that you first would expect."
