purrhaps... their owners (martyn and cub because those are my mumbo and scar ships of choice) hanging out together and just telling mumbo and scar to "go play" . i mean they try to just play with dog toys for a bit but everyone knows that won't last long before scar's trying to mount mumbo and shove his tdick in his hole

‘I’m doing research on petplay, I’m going to write a fic about Scar wanting to experience life as a pet sniffer with his owner’s Cub and Mumbo’

Cub doing research on the sniffer with a couple of other hermits (not sure who) mostly lab work

trying to find out more about the ancient creatures and there link to modern day sniffer hybrids

Scar is (by no surprise at this point) a sniffer hybrid and said yes to helping with the research because Cub asked him

Scar’s job is being a “field agent” of sorts, he express once to Cub that ‘he’d recently grown envious towards the sniffers they’ve (the hermits) kept in the pasture’

and sometimes wanted to ‘take a break from being a player’

(I’m using player as an inclusive term for “humans”)

so Cub offered to help him with that

in exchange Scar agreed to be a “test subject” for Cub

(Scar’s the only sniffer hybrid, that’s why they’re doing this test in the first place)

all scar has to do is get his weekly blood drawn and hormone shot in

“visit” with the sniffers, then report back what “research” he found about the sniffer creature (can you see where I’m going with this)

Mumbo is there to, he’s Scars keeper/shared owner of Scar (with Cub)

his job is practically pampering Scar after his long day out in the pasture

he bathes him, brushes him, puts Scar’s favorite StarWars movie on while Mumbo sits besides him and messages his back

all around cooes at him about ‘being such a good boy’ and ‘Is his princess happy’

and Scar just rumbles a happy noise, to tired from his day to actually say words

on his pink sniffer bed, made just for him, with one of his owners softly petting his head as he drifts off to sleep

excited to start his day again and again and again

to be cheerish like a prize pet

I’ll make a actual fic of this idea later, just needed to get this out of my system first.

Today is the day. Xisuma has always been quite comfortable in his armour. It is sufficiently padded and designed to accommodate his body for an indefinite amount of time, it maintains a optimum health through it's microprocessors and on board suite, and most importantly it lets him stand. Gives him legs. Prosthesis in-built to the suit's construction, he has been in it so long the line where he and the harness around his waist and legs connect to the metal at his mid-thigh is seamless, as if they were his own legs. In many respects, they are. The void is nothingness. And in the void, there is not much want for gravity. So when he first stepped into the overword all those years ago, it was nauseating, crushing, and utterly debilitating. The suit helps moderate that: protects his bones and their inherent low density from suffering the crush of the over-world's gravity and he is fine with that. Xisuma is fine to continue to exist within the suit. It is comfortable enough, and even on the days when it is not - some errant glitch or malfunction - it is fine, who is he to complain when it lets him enjoy the company of those he has grown close to. But over the years, Xisuma finds the yearning nesting in his chest, to reach out and touch someone's hand with out the padded under suit or armour in the way, for someone to touch his face or rub his back after a long day and actually feel it: not just imagine it through the layers of metal. Simple, human, comforts the suit restricts him from. Today is the day.

Knight Scar x Dragon Ariana

Ariana is cursed and runs away to a far away tower or cave

by now she’s grown used to knights trespassing on her territory

one day

a traveler dressed in armor appears on her doorstep

‘fool !’ She thinks to herself, ‘that smug bastard isn’t even carrying a weapon’

when she loweres her head

She gazes at the familiar sight of lushish brown hair, dark forest green eyes and a dorkish smirk that makes her heart do backflips

Scar, her best friend, her first love, her only companion who knows how lonely growing up in a life like thier’s can be

‘I’m here, so you may have my hand in marriage’ Scar declares

‘pardon ?’ Ariana snickers

‘Yes !, you’d heard me correctly’ Scar confirmed

back in Scar’s own kingdom, he is set to be wed off, when he hears of a dragon in a neighboring kingdom, who the locals claim ‘no man can slay’, Scar is determined to find this mysterious creature, to find out what happened to his beloved Airana

the plan he relays to Airana is simple, if she accepts Scar’s hand: he will simply leave everything behind and live with her forever after, if she truly doesn’t want to merry Scar: help him by “kidnapping” him so he may run away and be free from the role he is forced to play

Ariana agrees to help Scar no matter what happens

(In this au, we can have cubmumscarian as a fun little add treat, I’m serious.)
