I just played ME3 multiplayer for the first time in a while and I picked up my cabal vanguard, who was recently promoted and therefore level reset. so she's not exactly strong at the moment (as she just got to level 7 after this match lol) but HOLY SHIT
I wasn't aware cabals NO LONGER HAD HEAVY MELEE. the few times heavy melee worked it was from HALFWAY ACROSS THE FREAKING MAP to the enemy--anything closer and she'd just pistol whip. which is not what cabals do IN THE FIRST PLACE. and every time I tried using poison strike the result was rubberbanding all over the goddamn map
are these bugs new??? I do NOT remember this a few months ago
Holy crap I actually finished something? This has been in my drawing queue for months but I finally got myself to finish shading and deciding colors.
I figured I'd draw some of the characters I use for ME3 Multiplayer. I don't have the exact colors pictured here unlocked for this class but my characters usually have the trademark cyan/orange/white color scheme.
A quick background for this character, since it's more fun to have a backstory (and motivation for my support-role play style since I'm not the best shot ;D):
Casphet - Cabal Vanguard
A young female turian just out of adolescence who was assigned to the N7 special tasks force when the war began. Normally, cabals undergo training well into young adulthood, but the dire need for skilled operatives led to the Turian Hierarchy releasing cabal trainees into the field early. She's a colony kid from Altakiril who was sent to Palaven to train as a cabal field medic when it was discovered that she had biotic powers. She's not quite used to the front lines but serves to support those who are more experienced in direct combat.
I really hope I can make my Cabal viable for Platinum. So far the only Platinum kits I have are the:
N7 Fury, who unfortunately is a glass cannon in Platinum and Gold. With her I can solo anything easily besides Banshees, Atlases, and Primes, (which I shouldn't be soloing anyway?) but one mistake and she either dies or loses 4 health bars.
N7 Shadow, whose situation is the same as the Fury's, only she has trouble taking on multiple enemies at a time. Possibly only Platinum viable because of the ridic damage she can deal to bosses.
Alliance Infiltration Unit (AIU or EDI). By spamming Repair Systems, Tactical Cloak, Snap Freeze, and Melee, she can do quite a bit of damage to everything and solo bosses, as long as they're alone. She also only ever dies when Repair Systems fails to revive her (which happens, somehow? I wish they'd fix that) or on the rare occasion where she's sync-killed by Phantoms (only once has that happened) or Banshees (only when they sneak up on me and sync-kill as soon as they reach me). I somehow end up in 2nd place in terms of damage. With her Repair Systems, Tactical Cloak, high mobility, and speedy dodging, she makes for a really good medic, too.
So far with the Cabal, I have her spec'ed for melee damage, poison damage, and power damage. I'm not sure whether to lower the weight of assault rifles (should I even be in one place long enough to effectively use an assault rifle?), or to bring Nightshade Blades to its 3rd evolution (right now I'm not using it at all, shame on me). In battle I move through the battlefield, PS'ing through groups of enemies, HM'ing solo enemies. If I'm able to, I'll repeatedly Poison Strike groups of enemies until they die, otherwise I'll keep moving. As definitely the best teleporter in the game, she's a great medic and great for getting to the objective. I don't die with her as much now that I spec'ed Biotic Focus for shield restore (this is my first biotic, besides the krogan, that I don't have to ride on the gates all the time with), but a big problem with her, along with the Fury and Slayer, but bigger with her, is that sometimes her teleports, and more importantly her Poison Strike, don't work. This appeared to be because there's something blocking the area where she'd reappear, but often it seems like there's nothing in the way, and when there is something in the way she'll just PS a bit shorter and end up at a wall. Since I use Poison Strike to get out of a pinch very often, the power failing can be deadly (if I don't remember to Biotic Focus in time).
So anyway, if you bothered to read all this, what weapon should I use for her? And depending on that, should I spec her for Assault Rifle Weight, Weapon Damage/Stability, or Nightshade Blades?
Vanguards run on Power Damage, so I'll have to max out Poison Strike and her power bonuses. And she doesn't have shield recharge with PS, so I have to max out Biotic Focus to restore barrier. And she's got great melee so I'll have to max out melee damage to make it worthwhile.
This leaves out Nightshade Blades, which is basically poison Ballistic Blades.
If I liked Ballistic Blades, I'd use Batarians. So I'm fine with leaving it out.
So I've been trying to find the perfect way to play as my Cabal Vanguard, and after much researching I think I've found the play style to use.
But it uses that dodge/teleportation thing of hers. Alot.
And I can't do it.
Almost every time I tap A to make her teleport through a wall, she covers against it. ALMOST EVERY TIME. The only things that work are a) teleporting with nothing around (kinda pointless) and b) Poison strike.
Is there something I'm doing wrong with the controls? In all the videos I watched no-one had this problem. (then again, they where probably playing computer and I use 360) Help pleaseeee?
