My theory on the cabin fire is that Vans dream was right, it was just a stray ember that caught quickly and took everything with it. No one was awake to put it out so it spread. BUTTTTTT I’ve been thinking about Bens trial. Why Van would vote for Ben when it seems like she doesn’t actually think he did it by the end. Obviously part of that is Van trying to support Taissa. She is so loyal to Tai that she’s not willing to disagree with her on this. But I don’t think that reasoning holds up super well in this case. Like we’ve seen Van disagree with Tai a bunch so I think that’s only PART of the reason they voted for Ben. The other, maybe more important reason, is they genuinely believe that other Tai did it. I think Van was so adamant about voting for Ben because they were trying to PROTECT Tai. Which makes it extra tragic if it was an accident and they voted for Ben for nothing.

i am supportive of the van cabin fire theories but i also?? don't feel like she would?? i can see her covering up for tai but the groups safety has ALWAYS come first with her so why would she burn the cabin??? i'd argue the fire hallucination supports a "guilt about holding the secret" plot more than a "she burnt it down" plot??? idk i cant see the motivation much....idk. just my thoughts. she wants them to survive and burning the cabin seems very counterproductive to that. i do think she knows something but i cant see her being responsible for it.
