I had this idea for a fic of my own in which Zuko gets invited to a Water Tribe drinking competition, and he warns that he has an unfair advantage because his “inner fire will probably burn the alcohol faster” than it will in his competitors.

Just realized, since inner fire affects metabolism, and meat/protein takes longer for the body to digest that probably why the Fire Nation eats so much Meat!!!

EDIT: Oh geez I remembered another one! If Zuko and Sokka both drank cactus juice, it would probably burn out of Zuko’s system faster! Or it would burn the water out and leave whatever toxins made him hallucinate, leaving him a headache, bellyache, etc. He’s cranky and in pain but at least he’s not frustratingly out of it.

Preparing some oven roasted oak burl, marinated in cactus juice. The inside was a little rotten, so I scraped out a lot and then soaked it in cactus juice in a vacuum for a week.
