If you haven’t gotten it yet, Please do CaddiFeathers for the BROTP things!! <3
I got halfway through this and MY PHONE DECIDED TO CLOSE IT UGH
But ty Ayu, I love youuuuu~
—Who is the better wingman when they're out together?
Caddy. Truthfully, Kit has never had to be one for him!
Don't get me wrong. Caddy is the overly tired, "oh my god I can't believe I'm doing this" wingman when it needs to happen. But he ain't about to let his friend down.
Esp in the case of yungfeathers, lol
—Which of them is more likely to pretend to be in a relationship with the other one to avoid something/someone?
Tbh it doesn't?? Happen?? Intentionally??
The way it happens is this: Kit gets bothered by someone. Kit asks friends for help. Caddy turns up to help. Person bothering Kit decides "boy helping out person I think is a girl?? clearly boyfriend. boyfriend is popular, I will back off".
It's seldom more than Caddy putting a hand on Kit's shoulder and asking what the problem is. But it's enough to 1. Decide he is thier boyfriend and 2. Make them back off.
—Who is more likely to fall asleep at the other one's place?
Tbh, they've both done this.
—Which of them comes up with the more terrible of the bad ideas?
"nO CADDY YOU'RE NOT SURFING DOWN THE STAIRS ON A DINNER TRAY. I DON'T CARE IF IAN DARED YOU. AT LEAST LET ME LINE IT WITH PILLOWS FIRST—"
—Which of them remembers more details about the other? (eg. birthdays, favourite foods, how they take thier coffee?)
Kit freakin dedicates themself to remembering everything they can about thier friends?
That doesn't make Caddy forgetful, though. If Kit took a nap on his shoulder last night because they were both up late studying last night, he'll shove a strong coffee sweetened to thier liking under thier nose and be like "I imagine you'll need this."
—Who is more likely to bring home a stray?
KIT. Kit, Kit, Kit, Kit, Kit.
Caddy is already more than aware of Kit's habits of befriending any stray cats on school campus. He's honestly always at least half expecting to find a new or different cat in thier dorm room when he visits it. He knows now the appropriate question is "So what's this one called?"
—Who eats all of the popcorn when they go to a movie together?
It legitimately depends on how bad the film is. If it's a good film, he'll try and prevent Kit from eating too much too loudly so that he can focus on the cinematography. If it's a terrible film? He'll grumpily binge on it, throw a handful of popcorn at the screen at the worst moments and complain about the wasted time and money.
(and promptly feel awful when it's time to leave because Kit's picking up the popcorn after him.)
1. What in-jokes do they have with each other?
A lot of references to british culture, conversations that they've had in english around people that don't speak english, and, when Kit starts attending- d&d references!
2. Are they "I'll pay this time if you pay next time"-type friends or more "I'll pay for my food and you'll pay for yours"-type friends?
The funny thing is that when they first got to know each other, they were both very much "We'll pay for ourselves but if you forget your money I'll get you something, just get me a snack next time" people.
But after a few weeks... Caddy found out that Kit wasn't so financially well off. Asagao is very much a "rich kids" school and Kit was pretty good at keeping up appearances at first, they'd make an excuse for why they didn't replace the jeans they spilled ink on or why they hadn't eaten lunch for two days straight.
But eventually they kinda snapped and just went. "you know not everyone lives on the same budget as you." and it was kinda a moment like. Oh. OH.
Your grandparents pay tuition for you because your dad is bankrupt and they wanted to give you a new start and that's why you're so tolerant of the constant misgendering and deadnaming during thier fortnightly calls? Oh okay. That makes sense now... now I get why you have a part time job over the holidays. No, that's okay! I don't think of you differently, I think I understand now-
He hadn't really had to comprehend someone not being able to replace something as soon as it broke or ran out before?? It was kind of an alien concept. But this was his friend that'd give him free cookies that they'd made and let him copy thier homework at 2am because oH SHIT WE HAD CHEMISTRY TOMORROW because he got too wrapped up in more important things like games??
So now he just. Tried to turn the topics away from family or money if it turned up? Like by stamping on someone's foot underneath the table or starting a fight with Moosey so he could talk to them about it later.
And now he's a lot more likely to, as subtly as he can like. Replace the pack of pens Kit uses for art because it looks like it's running out, no don't mention it. Yes I paid for your drink because you didn't find the change fast enough, let's just get going eh? No, I'm going to pay you like an artist when I commission you, because you are one—
3. Who's more prone to pranking or otherwise messing with the other?
Caddy. The worst Kit does is the very, veeeeeery occasional ridiculous prank call.
4. How do they text/ message each other? Proper punctuation and capital letters, egregious overuse of emojis, mostly in meme format?
Kit is the actual worst double texter. Ever. And they use a lot of shorthand, in some cases having to correct it later. Also, autocorrect is a devil.
5. Do they exchange jokey birthday presents, or deeply thought-out and meaningful presents? Or both?
Generally more meaningful ones, or at least ones they know the other should like.
6. They go on a road trip together. Who drives, who picks the music, who's in charge of snacks?
First off, they're both like 15, nearly 16, so nobody is driving here. I'll say again that this is them making thier way back to the academy on public transport/ the back of people's cars/ ect.
Basically everyone in the car picks the music, screaming SUB TO YUNGTOWN and the lyrics to bohemian rhapsody, and complaining about the other's taste in music. Kit has the snacks. Obviously.
7. What do they think of each other's family?
Caddy has a handful of opinions™ about Kit's family, but he keeps it polite, obviously. Kit thinks that Rosie is great, though.
8.Do they have any nicknames for each other?
Both Kit and Caddy?? Hate?? Thier birth names?? "Kit" and "Caddy" are technically chosen nicknames.
But Kit has a variety of memey contact names for all of thier friends. Including Caddy. Most of them go along the lines of "Caddizard" and "Cad Bambicoot".
9. Who'd be the first to try and patch things up if they had a fight?
Kit cannot stand any kind of conflict and apologises even when it's not thier fault or something that they can help. Give Caddy a few hours to cool off and they'll be bffs again.
10. One of thier phones goes off in the middle of the night. Who's calling whom and why?
One of two reasons, probably.
Kit's had a nightmare and is seeking validation that he's okay, or
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE HAD HOMEWORK"
11. What's thier favourite funny story that happened to the two of them?
They both love to throw ridiculous anecdotes at each other of things that technically happened, but greatly exaggerated.
"Hey Kit remember when you stopped playing nokemon to ambush me with a trust fall from up a tree?"
"a sQUIRREL TOOK MY HAT AND I FELL"
"I still had to catch you"
"I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW YOU WERE THERE"
12. Would they do a joint cosplay? If so, who would they dress up as?
My answer would be: halloween party, maybe, or in a group as the d&d party as thier characters.
13. Do they have any TV shows they watch together? Do they have any wildly different opinions?
The brit bros Kit, Caddy and Ayu all watch old English kids shows together as a way to remedy homesickness. Caddy often gets irrationally angry about them; half the time he makes a good point but at the same time he's yelling about it in his pyjamas and a purple dragon onesie.
At least he's entertaining.
14. Which one is the "fight me" friend and which is the one that tries to keep the peace and prevent thier friend from punching a total stranger?
Caddy is immensely defensive of his friends, lol. Look at them wrong and you're asking for the slaughter.
There has been many an occasion Kit has physically put Caddy over thier shoulder kicking and screaming because you already have detention today goddamnit
15. One of them comes up with an ill-advised but mostly harmless idea. Does the other one egg them on because they think it will be funny, or do they try and talk them out of it?
"Caddy, I am not going to let you-"
16. Who would win if they arm-wrestled?
Kit's decently strong? But I'm still saying Caddy for this one because he's got far, far faster reflexes.
17. Who's better at what kind of video games, and how competitive are they?
Caddy basically wipes the floor with Kit at games. End of.
This doesn't make games of CBR any less intense or heated.
18.One of them ends up in hospital for something serious but not life threatening. What does the other bring along when they visit in order to cheer them up?
I'm gonna likely say it's something stress related with Kit, maybe feathers?
Caddy brings along a bad game for some kind of mobile device (like a 4ds or SS Bita) or a bad movie and rips it to peices with words. Kit finds his ranting entertaining, and he knows it!
Kit is the huggy one of the two, no doubts there.
But Caddy also doesn't object? Oh you're homesick and need a hug? No problem.
Hugs are nice, he's not gonna push them away.
20. What was the reason that they first realised that they'd become friends?
Caddy probably clocked it early on honestly. He was more than happy to befriend this person and help them out in exchange for a slight cleanup in his record? But he could actually tell this person trusted him, saw him as a friend when they first fell asleep using his shoulder as a pillow whilst they were studying.
This was like, a really shy and anxious individual that had come over to his dorm room to study and do homework with him, a dorm room that he shared with someone they didn't know, that could come in any moment, and they still felt safe enough to use him as a pillow.
Kit though? Being honest, a good part of it was insecurity and doubting themself, but they weren't sure if Caddy was as fond of them as they were of him. He'd found out they were, well. Poor, comparatively. And they knew he was getting a partial record cleanup through helping them out.
Wasn't until Caddy threw a bunch of stuff to the side to essentially say "look, last I heard you had a call from home and nobody's seen you for two days, are you alright? I'm asking for me, I'm worried! You do know I think of you as my friend, right?" that it actually hit home for Kit that they were more than a tippex mark on his detention list.
