Caellum my spider lad
Caellum will never find love/a mate.
8.5/10
It’s highly likely. It has yet to be established if Caellum possesses the capacity to express the mortal concept of ‘love’, and even he himself is unsure if he could reciprocate such emotions if given the chance. To make things worse, Caellum is openly hostile, bad-tempered, violent, and self-destructive, making him extremely difficult to get along with let alone be the object of another person’s affection. Love is something Caellum may never have, but a mate stands a bit more of a chance. A hypersexual being, Caellum engages in more than his fair share of sexual activity, so a relationship with a potential mate could be possible given some of the following: There is a mutual need for sexual gratification. Caellum tolerates his partner and in turn is tolerated. Even if there may not be ‘love’, familiarity and understanding could be enough to make a potential mate Caellum’s preferred company, and that might be as close as he ever gets.
(⸝⸝⸝ ̑ ̑⸝⸝⸝) ಥoಥ (-.-) for Kalden and ( ๑‾̀◡‾́)σ» (ノ≧ڡ≦) (ꈍᴗꈍ)ε`*) for Cae? :O
(⸝⸝⸝ ̑ ̑⸝⸝⸝): Does their face get red after they drink?
Absolutely. Kalden isn’t a big drinker since he doesn’t like the taste of alcohol, but he can easily be fooled by fruity drinks that don’t carry a bitter aftertaste. As a perfectly hydrated water mage, Kalden’s body can actually ‘water down’ alcohol pretty well, so it might take a few drinks before he shows any signs of being drunk- but being red in the face is definitely a tell tale sign that he’s feeling the effects!
ಥoಥ: How are they like when they cry? Do they just stream tears nonstop? Does their nose get clogged to the point that it’s hard to breathe? Is it easy for them to speak when they are sobbing? Do they hiccup when they cry?
How dare anyone make this precious boy cry
As previously mentioned, Kalden is a water mage, and as such he has plenty of water in him to bring forth a cascade of big ol’ tears. Tears that couldn’t be blinked away and would run down his cheeks and dribble from his chin in droplets, soaking his sleeves if he tried to wipe them away. He’d be able to get a few words out in between sobs and hiccups, but otherwise he’d have to be calmed/calm himself down enough to settle his breathing before he could get anything more than that out. Kalden’s not the type to hold back his tears when he feels the need to cry, so a tearful episode could last until he’s completely flushed out or he no longer has the energy.
(-.-): How should one wake them up? Do they get out of bed easily?
If Kalden doesn’t wake up on his own (He’s pretty good at keeping a healthy sleep schedule so he’s usually awake at a reasonable hour because he’s a good boy), waking him up gently is preferred IF whoever is waking him up even has the heart to do so. Already being very soft and cute, Kalden, as one would expect, is even more so when he’s all cozy and sleeping peacefully. If he absolutely must be roused though, shaking him lightly or speaking to him in a soft voice that gradually gets louder until he wakes up both work just fine. Of course, kisses from his husband aren’t a bad thing to wake up to either~
( ๑‾̀◡‾́)σ»: Do they have a sensitive spot/s?
First off, let’s make it clear that Caellum is very guarded when it comes to, well, everything, including his body, so chances are he’s never been touched in the particular ways noted below, and may not even be aware of these spots himself:
Mouth/Teeth: Caellum’s mouth, though not physically sensitive, is his main weapon in battle and a display of his pride as a vampire. In vampire culture it is considered a great disrespect to force one’s anything (hands/fingers among…other body parts…) anywhere near or in a vampire’s mouth. That said, Caellum is no exception, and touching his mouth/teeth is a surefire way to instantly offend him and piss him off. With teeth as sharp and a temper as short as Caellum’s, it’s best to steer clear of his mouth if one plans on keeping whatever appendage they’re trying to put in there, because he can and will bite.
Back of the neck: Rarely seen (because he often wears a hood), let alone touched (because he has exceptional reflexes), the back of Caellum’s neck can actually be used to momentarily shock or subdue him. Like a mother cat picking up her kitten, if one can manage to firmly grab the back of Caellum’s neck, he is a bit easier to deal with. Not only can he not maneuver around to bite whoever is holding him, but from there he can be thrown or pinned to the ground to be further disciplined. Also, not that Caellum would ever allow it, but blowing on/kissing the back of his neck unexpectedly would make him jump/give him goosebumps.
Base of the spine: AKA the most ticklish spot (besides the aforementioned back of the neck). Similar to the previous spot, Caellum’s back is rarely touched, so this spot is pretty well hidden and mostly unknown (even to Caellum). In terms of canon lore, Caellum hasn’t, and likely never will be touched here. If someone were to somehow get him to drop his guard enough however, just barely ghosting one’s fingers over the base of Caellum’s spine would be enough to make him shiver and twitch as he tried to decide if it tickled or felt good.
(ノ≧ڡ≦): Do they like to show affection by physically teasing? (I.E: Shoulder punches, etc.)
Not the affectionate type by nature, Caellum instead (unconsciously) displays how much someone else might mean to him by putting himself in harms way for them (Jumping into battles that aren’t his, taking hits that were directed at someone else etc.). Again, unlikely in canon, but if Caellum was to show any hints of physical affection for someone else, it would more so be in the simple things. Burying his face into their clothes/the crook of their neck, resting his head on their shoulder, sitting in their lap, laying on top of/underneath them, letting them wrap their arms around his waist etc.
(ꈍᴗꈍ)ε`*): Do they prefer kisses on the cheek? Forehead? What about neck kisses?
(See the previous answer about the back of Cae’s neck)
As far as kisses are concerned, Caellum prefers a hot makeout session above all else, and he’d interpret cheek/forehead kisses as babying him- which he will not stand for.
caellum
Does Caellum actually have people he considers "friends"?
😬
Realistically? No.
Since he was raised to rely solely on himself and not to depend on anyone else, Caellum doesn’t allow himself to grow fond of others whether in friendship or otherwise as doing so promotes ‘weakness’.
On top of that mindset Caellum is also openly hostile and bad tempered, partially due to his upbringing, and partially due to the fact that he’s in an almost constant state of frustration as a result of being cursed, losing his memories, and having the life beaten out of him in fights his poor attitude got him into.
All of this adds up to having extremely negative effects on Caellum’s well-being and metal health, because he’s so touch starved and so attention starved that he’d do anything to have someone show him even the smallest bit of affection and yet he still ignores those needs.
Now, Caellum does actually have people in his life that could technically be considered the closest thing he has to ‘friends’, but they are:
Myshi: A masked bat deity who’s only interested in Caellum for his feisty nature, using him as a guinea pig for experimental magic-drug tests because of his abilities, and for sex.
Cal: A literal murderer who has even fewer social skills than Caellum does.
Con: A hyperactive lightning mage who’s moral compass and sanity levels are questionable at best, who means well and does actually like Caellum, but at the same time is too unhinged and unpredictable for that to matter.
In short: Caellum’s only ‘friends’ are a local hunter’s giant panther, and the local stray cats.
I updated Caellum’s bio so it’s caught up on his current lore!
You can read it on FR here if you prefer, but here’s a preview+the rest under the cut as well!
Deep within the Scarred Wasteland, Caellum was born into a race of Plague dragons that feed off the blood and emotions of others. This origin clan of 'vampires' has kept themselves secret and hidden for centuries, but their race has slowly started to branch out across Sorneith to feed and to make their power known. Caellum learned from an early age that he couldn't depend on anyone but himself. As soon as he was able to walk and feed on his own, his parents stopped taking care of him. He wasn't shown any pity or sympathy from neither adults nor other children like himself. Anywhere else this method of upbringing might seem neglectful and cruel, but not to the vampires who wanted their children to grow up relying solely on their own strength to survive. These harsh life lessons forced Caellum to mature early, permanently ingraining savageness and pride into his sense of self worth.
