Film stars hazelnut-coconut latte [850 HUF] and earth coffee [800 HUF] from Café Frei
I’m excited to rate these interesting drinks!
🥥🌰Film stars hazelnut-coconut latte☕️
Rating: 4/5
This was delicious, but at the same time kind of bland. It’s a latte, but it reminds me more of a milkshake. By the way, this is an iced latte and I appreciate that they didn’t put ice blocks in it. It’s very pretty as you can see and the price compared to the size is acceptable. The drink was kind of boring; the hazelnut flavor was pretty weak (I didn’t taste it at all) and the coconuts could be found sprinkled on top along with some other unidentifiable objects. There’s some chocolate on the sides, as you can see, but you won’t taste it unless you scrape it off of the sides of the cup. Was it good? Yes. Would I have it again or recommend it to others? Nah.
🌍 The Earth coffee☕️
Rating: 1/5
This drink had a very interesting flavor. They used several different spices I could tell. I couldn’t taste the almond milk, the vanilla, roiboos tea or the seaweed, however. I could see the seaweed on top, but there was no distinct seaweed taste. On the picture in the menu the drink was green, but in reality it was brown. The seaweed (?) sprinkled on top was green though. Why the low rating? 1) do you see the size of this cup? 800ft for this shot of espresso is unbelievable to me. This isn’t an airport, so I don’t understand how this daylight robbery is going on. 2) it simply wasn’t worth the money. There was so much potential in this drink, but I think that the picture and the description in the menu exaggerate what the actual experience is. I finished it, but I know that I’ll never have this again. What an anticlimax.

Japanese Rose Coffee
Malaysian white chocolate coffee [700 HUF] from Café Frei
Rating: 3/5
It had an interesting flavor. If I didn’t know the name, I would’ve suspected that it consisted of some type of vanilla cream, but not white chocolate and walnuts. I gave this a 3 because it was very sweet, almost too sweet for my taste. I would not suggest having this with a dessert. Then there’s the price. Once again paid for an overpriced espresso shot😤
Guys, as amazingly delicious as a coffee drink can be, the price should match the size in my opinion. I have had other coffee drinks of the same size or even bigger that tasted better and were cheaper than this one. The French vanilla latte that I got from volt the other day was way bigger, way more aesthetically pleasing (there’s no coffee art on this one!), and way better taste-wise, yet it was actually cheaper (by 10ft). The coffee being “international” is no good reason to rob people in my opinion.
Despite this little rant, I have not yet given up on Frei. I will return with hope.
The feeling when you are drinking COFFEE with a STRAW (I like latte and other more milky coffee types) in Cafe Frei and people are looking at you like you're an idiot...
(Yes,I enjoyed today's outing 🥰)
