hi hamliet! what are your thoughts on the current arc of bsd? it definitely feels longer to me because i was somewhat expecting a conclusion to the craziness after ch 88, but it doesn't seem like we'll be getting that soon with fukuchi's plan. since dazai basically planned the end of every other arc, do you think dazai will have a part in stopping fukuchi?
It is a loooong arc haha, great themes and characters but the monthly pace makes it feel even longer.
At the same time, momentum is ramping up, and I’m really liking the aim here and the themes (governments bad, war bad, colonizers bad). It feels like we’re approaching a tipping point, and I’d bet on things ending by chapter 100. I hope (especially now that Sensei has finished the newest novel!)
As for Dazai, I think he will in a sense, but I also think he might be less directly involved (more like it’ll play out as he foresaw). I think Atsushi and Akutagawa both have to break free from him in a sense, so it’d be good if they start taking initiative beyond what Dazai has planned--but it may not be time for that just yet; we shall see!
