Abaddon isn’t a demon, he’s a child raised in a cult and told his whole life that someday he would reach his true potential and his real form. He was rescued from the cult, but he’s been hospitalized ever since with severe PTSD and religious psychosis. No one has been able to get through to him yet, but Katherine has just been assigned to him as his new trauma therapist, and there might be hope for him after all.

Summary:

Prince Khimhant Theerapanyakul died several years ago. At least, that's what he wants everyone to believe. Instead, he's been traveling the kingdom, trying to uncover the dark plans he discovered his father was cooking up before his unplanned disappearance. Every lead that he follows goes cold, but he knows that there's something, he just has to find it.

Almost by chance, he meets a pair of brothers who have a connection to his family he's eager to uncover. To discover the truth, and keep each other safe, they'll join together and try to stop whatever evil King Korn wants to unleash on his subjects.

So I am actively working on refreshing, editing, and finishing about 99% of my Glee fics so I can crosspost them on AO3! (I’m still keeping them all on FF.net as well, I just want to post them up on that site too, particularly because I can post things in chronological order in their correct universes so they’re easier to read!)

Also. In case you were wondering. I have 85 separate documents of Glee fics to work on. That’s without fics being separated into chapters, and not including all the stuff I wrote but never posted.

The Tumbled document alone is 841 pages and almost 300,000 words.

Awesome! Okay, so—I keep thinking about the timeloops, and the potential for a Nathan Lives AU that comes with those…but also the fact that it might make Abaddon more anxious when the loop ends, because what if something happens and the cult comes back and he loses Nathan and everyone else all over again? He had more time with him this time than he ever did before, he doesn’t want that to end.

(I love that “Abaddon worries himself into exhaustion/getting sick after the loop ends” seems like a popular subgenre, but I haven’t seen a fic where Nathan lives yet; I’d love to see something where he just goes into Dad/Caretaker mode and can actually physically hold him. Just, like—“C’mon, bud. You’re pretty tired. Shhh, yeah, you are. I’m gonna stay right with you; it’s okay; I’m right here.”)

Whumptober 2025 Day #4

Alternate prompt: "Oh. Oh."

More and more often Abaddon finds himself lost. He's not sure if he could find his way in hell again, but he knows he doesn't belong in the human world with a family. He's not sure of who he is anymore and he keeps finding himself slipping.

“Abaddon?” He bolted upright, smacking his head against the underside of the piano and cursing loudly. “What? What do you want?” he snarled. Esther blinked. “Jesus, calm down,” she said. She crouched next to him, a slight figure in a tee shirt stolen from her brother and ratty flannel pajama pants. “I just came down to get a glass of water and heard you freaking out. What were you doing?”  “Nothing!” he barked. “Nothing of any consequence. Leave me alone.” “Were you sleeping?” she asked, not to be deterred. “I didn’t think you slept.” “I don’t!” “Sure looks like you were.” “You were mistaken.” Esther leaned closer, scrutinizing his face. “Dude, are you crying?” she said, incredulous. “I didn’t think you could do that either!” “I’m not crying!” he said, swiping at his face, but she was right, his cheeks were wet and his eyes were burning. She hesitated. “Did…did you have a nightmare?” No. Of course not. Don’t be foolish. I don’t sleep. I certainly don’t have nightmares. But the hazy frightening things that he’d seen in his visions circled his thoughts and he curled into himself, hugging his knobby knees into his chest. “I want my mother,” he blurted out, and what did he mean, his mother, did he mean the boy’s mother, the host body he still occupied- No, no, his mother.

James gets a second chance to ask Alex out, but now he has to get up the courage to do it.

“Jamie, honey, are you going to mope all weekend?” James slid down lower in the armchair. “Maybe,” he mumbled. Alex is on her date right now. And of course that asshole is going to fall in love with her. And she’ll fall in love with him, and I’m gonna spend the rest of the school year watching her date him- Charlie ran her hand over his hair. “Stop thinking about Alex,” she chided gently. “I’m not thinking about Alex, I’m just very focused on the movie,” he said. That was a lie, he wasn’t even sure what movie he was currently watching. “Dad made brownies, do you want one?” she asked. “I think there’s some ice cream in the freezer too.” “No, I’m okay.” Charlie sighed heavily. “My poor boy, going through his first heartbreak,” she said. “I know it’s bad if you’re turning down brownies and ice cream.” “It’s not heartbreak, Mom, it’s not a big deal, really,” he said. Charlie shook her head, patted his shoulder and left him alone to the movie he wasn’t even watching. His phone buzzed and he nudged it away, he didn’t feel like talking to anybody.  Maybe she was right, maybe it was heartbreak. Every time he thought about Alex on a date with that John guy- holding his hand, laughing at his jokes, talking to him about the newest book she’d read- it made his stomach twist. It was worse when he thought about her kissing him. God, senior year was going to be a nightmare if she-

turning, turning, we come round right: chapter 2

Katherine sits in on her first group session with the kids and has some concerns, but things are concerning her at home too. Abaddon starts the cycle over again with a new therapist and briefly wonders if Katherine might be able to help him (she probably can’t.)

Abaddon plucked at his ID bracelet and sighed heavily. “I was born into the family of believers in Ward’s Hill, where I was raised under the protection of Father James, the leader of the Hand of God, until the day our community was dissolved and I was brought here,” he droned. He’d gone over this so many times with so many adults at this point, he’d developed a set answer.

Katherine didn’t take any notes, she just tilted her head and studied him. “Is Father James your biological father?”

“No.”

“So where do your parents fit into this? Did they give you to him?”

He shifted uncomfortably. “In the Hand of God there is no need for familial attachments,” he said. He’d heard the grownups in the church say that exact phrase so many times. “The men and women live separately. If a husband and wife is received into the Hand, their earthly marriage is dissolved.”

“What about children?”

“We are one community in the Hand of God,” he said. “All of the adults work together to raise all of the children. They’re housed together until they come of age.”

Katherine frowned. “But not you,” she said. He shook his head. “You were raised by Father James. Why?”

“Because I’m not a child,” he said. He held out his hands, palms open, baring his thin arms crisscrossed in pale scars. “This flesh contains the second coming of the demon Abaddon.”

“Uh-huh,” Katherine said slowly.

He scowled. “I know you don’t believe me, nobody believes me,” he said. He kicked his heels absently against the couch. “Father James said he knew it from the moment I was born, that I wasn’t an ordinary human child. That I was cursed.”

I wrote the first half of the next Abaddon mental hospital AU chapter (the Katherine POV) and I’m not sure if I like it, I feel like the pacing is too slow
