Caleuche and QM2 ✨
In my story, just like @piratespacex , this couple isn’t canon.
I did it just for fun, mainly because I love my wife QM2 💕

Caleuche and QM2 ✨

Mermay day 4: Mermaid Kingdoms
Sumpallhue- Home of the Sumpall, Chilean merfolk. Kidnapped or lured humans were said to become sumpall here as well.
Finfolkaheem- an Orkney underwater realm inhabited by finfolk. The winter home of the finfolk and also where captured humans are taken. Said to be magical and extravagant, the origin of the finfolk and their ancestral home.
Hildaland- this was the island home of the Finfolk and their captives/spouses in the summer. Might have been invisible, hidden by magic fog, or barely submerged. Said to be related to the real Eynhallow island.
Naranda- Korean undersea kingdom of mermaids, notably Hwang-ok.
Ryugu-Jo- Is the Japanese palace of Ryujin. While there aren’t necessarily mermaids said to be in residence, there are several mermaid like creatures. And the dragons of asian culture are water dwelling.
Emain Ablach- the Irish island home of the sea god Manannán Mac Lir. Identified with the isle of Man or Arran.
Mag mell- very similar to Emain Ablach, sometimes an underwater kingdom or a paradise island inhabited by gods. Similar to the elysium fields or Valhalla but not always explicitly an afterlife.
Kitezh- A russian submerged city akin to Atlantis that is allegedly still inhabited by some kind of people, either ghosts, water breathing humans, or possibly merfolk but no such desctptions exist.
Thuvaraiyam Pahti- an indian submerged city akin to Atlantis.
Ahtola- a Finnish sea castle.
Caleuche- a Chilean underwater ghost ship similar to thr flying duchman. Helmed by Millalobo or one of his children it acted as a psychopomp of sorts and sometimes just manned by ghosts. It’s not a kingdom perse but it is very cool and fascinating so I decided to include it.
Atlantis- not originally a home for merpeople it is in later works used as a home for them. Sometimes. Plus it’s too iconic to exclude
Day 25: Ship featuring my version of the Caleuche, a sentient ghost ship from the mythology of the chilote people, from the island of Chiloé, in southern Chile. One of its crew members is the warlock of Chiloé, and the ship is accompanied by the conch carrying, sea lion-esque Millalobo, king of the seas.
The Ghost Ships ✨
These are the ghost ships that play the most significant role in the story, but there are others too.
Of all of them, Caleuche is the one who stands out the most; unlike the others, she was born as a ghost ship rather than being transformed into one, and she possesses a physical form – something her sisters envy.
This envy has caused friction between them, making it difficult for them to tolerate one another’s presence; the situation worsened when Caleuche gave up her life as a ghost ship to live as a human, turning her back on them.
Mary Celeste is the only one who accepted her choice and supported her, but she has never blamed the other sisters for their anger.
Caleuche is also my alter ego ✨
My comfort 💕
I really love their interactions so much; they’re precious 😭❤️
Our non canon pair @piratespacex 🙏🏻
The first encounter between Lys/Caleuche and QM2 ❤️
A scene inspired by the rp with lil sis @piratespacex
Caleuche had seen the world in black and white for so long that s had lost count of the years, until she met this tall woman 💕

THE CHILEAN GHOST SHIP, CALEUCHE
The passengers on the Caleuche are all dead, but that doesn’t stop them from having a good time! On this Chilean ghost ship, the crew are monsters and the passengers party the afterlife away.
This mythical ship sails around the island of Chiloe off the cost of Chile and is described as glowing white with sails of bloodied. The Caleuche is sentient and can sail underwater and vanish at will.
The Caleuche carries the souls of people who drowned. Music fills the air as the souls dance and frolic.
The crew consists of monsters who hop on one leg, with their heads twisted backward. Legends say they kidnap human sailors and force them to work the decks, transforming them into monsters like themselves.
The Caleuche is also said to transport cargo for the island’s society of powerful warlocks who arrive at the boat via a magical seahorse, the caballo marino chipotle. If you’re tempted to book a cruise, be careful - looking at the Caleuche will cause your head to twist backward and your face to permanently display a crazed, crooked grin.
