some ideas about a rich whumper:

whumper who throws lavish parties, parading whumpee around like a trophy

whumpee kept in a gilded cage environment, wearing fine clothes, given a proper bed, but they can never escape

whumpee having to lie to guests about the way they're treated. not that anyone would believe otherwise, after all, whumper has money and treats whumpee to such nice clothing and food, so how could they possibly hurt whumpee?

whumper who keeps whumpee in line by offering rewards for complying. not fighting back means a bed to sleep in that night, not talking back means they get something to eat, etc...

whumpee not wanting to leave, because sure, they're being hurt, but at least they have a place to sleep, and nice things

maybe whumper has multiple whumpees, who are pitted against each other to earn 'rewards' such as a meal or their own room

whumpee was free. they hadn't seen whumper in weeks, months even. they'd stopped looking around every corner in case whumper was lurking, and had been able to live a relatively normal life. while the scars from their time with whumper will always remain, they've recovered enough to feel safe in their own home

that is, until one day, they get a knock on the door. they expect it to be one of their friends, who said they were coming round later that day. whumpee didn't expect them to be this early, but they didn't mind. they opened the door, expecting to see their friend. instead, they look straight into the eyes of whumper.

'hello, whumpee. it's been a while, hasn't it?'

a whumpee who is desperate to return to normal.

it's jarring really, how they act as if nothing happened at all. they force a smile and hide their trembling hands. they laugh it off every time they flinch at sudden movements or noise. they never talk about what happened, and fair enough, no one would want to talk about such an ordeal.

but whumpee can never heal if they never talk about it. they snap at others and isolate themself, their façade beginning to break down. the other members of their team notice something is wrong, maybe someone asks whumpee what's wrong. everything begins to spill out. all teammate can do is let whumpee yell and cry, until they eventually fall silent. whumpee can never go back to the way they were before, but after telling everything to teammate, they almost feel lighter.

whumpee with psychic powers

whumpee who can read minds knowing exactly what whumper thinks of them

whumpee who can read minds constantly being overwhelmed by the volume of thoughts they can hear

whumpee who can predict the future always dreading when whumper enters their cell, knowing what's to come

whumpee who can predict the future knowing exactly when the team will try and rescue them, and being forced to give up that knowledge to whumper, thus changing the future's outcome

whumpee who can predict the future being forced to tell whumper's future, giving whumper the ability to change their fate

whumpee who can communicate with the dead being haunted by whumper's past captives

living weapon being comforted for the first time.

a character treats their wounds ever so gently, and they don't know how to react. maybe they flinch at first, thinking that they'll be hurt, but the pain never comes.

they're spoken to in soft tones, being asked if they're okay, and not knowing how to respond because no one's ever spoken to them like that before. whoever is speaking to them doesn't rush them, and living weapon could almost cry if such a thing was possible for them.

being given time to rest, and not knowing what to do. maybe they try and train so as not to appear 'useless', to prove that they're a perfect weapon, yet everyone is telling them to rest. and maybe they desperately need that rest, but they can't let themself rest because what if they're needed to fight. finally they cave and rest at the command of their teammates, and they almost fall into bed from exhaustion, the tension melting off of their body.

thinking about a character who notices when another is being hurt/abused.

maybe character a works in a library, where character b often stays until they close. character a has to remind them that the library is closing, and character b always seems reluctant to leave.

one day, character b is nowhere to be found. character a tries not to worry, though they can't shake the feeling that something is wrong.

a few days later, character b returns, but they're in a bad shape. they're covered in bruises, and their hands shake. character a, now worried for their safety, asks if they're alright. character b hesitates, unable to meet character a's eyes as they try and brush off their concern.

character a asks if something is wrong at home, and if someone is hurting them, and character b can't keep their guard up any longer. they bite back tears, saying that things are difficult right now, but they're okay, they promise they're okay. character a, not wanting to pry but needing to help, offers the library as a place character b can stay to be safe, like they have been doing up until now. character b is grateful to have a sanctuary, even if it's only for a few hours before they inevitably have to return home.

snippet of something i thought of about a whumpee with fire powers

Caretaker burst into the cell, scanning the surroundings for Whumpee. They found Whumpee curled up in the corner, shaking, their eyes wide. As Caretaker crept closer, they noticed how Whumpee was drenched, their clothes torn and soaking the floor.

'Don't come any closer!' Whumpee cried, moving back as if they could get any further from Caretaker.

'I'm here to help you,' said Caretaker. 'It'll be okay, I promise.'

'No... no it won't. You need to get out.'

'Whumper's gone, they can't hurt you any more.'

'It's not that,' Whumpee lifted their arms, still dripping wet. 'This is gasoline.'

Caretaker noticed the smell in the air and took a step back. One wrong move and Whumpee's powers would ignite them and, judging by the puddles on the floor, the rest of the cell. Whumper must have anticipated someone would come after Whumpee.

'Just leave, before I hurt you. My powers can only hold off for so long. Please, I don't want to hurt you.'

a character on the run

constantly looking over their shoulder in case whoever they're running from is there. they never are, but [character] can't stop checking.

staying in shady motels, unable to rest out of fear that they'll be caught

not stopping to properly treat their injuries, leading to infection

^unable to go to the hospital in case people start asking questions, having to crudely patch themselves up in a bathroom

seeing someone who looks familiar — too familiar — and having to stifle their panic as they hide, scanning the area for an escape

^maybe it was a false alarm, or maybe it was someone they knew, but all they can think is

someone taking pity on them and offering a place to stay, [character] either blindly trusting a stranger or risk it on their own for another night

disappearing on everyone they know, unable to reach out for support

[character] receiving an 'anonymous' note. whoever they're running from knows where they are
