I really find the health, wellbeing and fitness community thrive when it comes to smartphone/device apps and providing people with excellent personal aid specific to whatever journey/challenges/goals people are committing to. In saying this however I do believe it can be a task to sift through so many choices to separate the most helpful from the least helpful, and have ended up with some duds in the process! I do get a real kick from finding a new app that really does provide for me what I'm looking for in a health, wellbeing or fitness app as I am quite selective! Some great apps I have used/currently use include #RunKeeper (tracks and times travel exercise including walking, running, cycling and more, also includes the option to manually record times from exercise i.e treadmills, gym cycles etc. Maps outs where you've travelled, calories burnt, split times and speed charts, add and compete with friends, share to social media!), #CalorieKing (set your preferences, record your eating and monitor your calorie/kilojoule intake, 8 glasses of water, minutes of exercise goal, all with the help of a HUGE selection of pre-added food and their calories and other dietary information that you can simply type in your portion and add to your day, prompts you to update your settings if you're struggling with your goals/smashing them!), #FitBit (in conjunction with a FitBit wearable device, the Fitbit app is a fantastic monitor for steps, calories burnt, also had the ability to track your eating and water intake, sleep monitor, heart rate and more!
