Houdini was adopted at 12 weeks and lived in the same house until the Palisades fire caused the family to evacuate. She was boarded at Barkley Pet Hotel until the fire danger passed. Her owners' situation warranted her finding a new loving home, and so she was surrendered to the cafe. Considering all she has been through, she is upset and needs some time to decompress. She is a beautiful cat, and we are sure in time we will be able to help her feel comfortable with humans again.

As some of you know, California was hit by a MASSIVE wildfire and it left many people without homes. Sadly, one of my best friends is one of those people.
They are the legal caregiver of their 72 year old disabled father and need all the help they can get as they have no where they can stay long term. They lost everything, including pets, so this is hitting them incredibly hard.
THIS IS WHAT REMAINED AFTER THE FIRE
As you can see, it is quite literally charred and unlivable.
