Got this wonderful photo of my cousin that I turned into a watercolor image. I’m not normally a photoshop user - more of a lightroom user myself, personally, but I have to get out of my normal and comfortable element to be able to make changes and improvements, right?

Obtained a film camera to add to my “collection” and I cannot wait to use it for the first time! This is a 1981 Sears KSX - it had an automatic aperture-priority setting on it, however, I’m not sure that it still works since I heard something rattling inside the lens when I was cleaning the lenses.

I have to restore the light seals and the mirror bumper before I use it and I also have to wait on the rolls of film I just ordered to come in.

It’s been a really long time since I last used a film camera - and to be honest, the last film camera I used was one of those disposable fujifilm cameras you can get at just about any store.

I also have just learned that Walgreens actually still sells rolls of film. I had no idea that there were still local stores that sell film until after I ordered the film online.

Hiking Adventures

It's been a few days, however I wanted to share these.

We had such a fun time exploring and hiking and walking around and taking photos.

It was also practice for me as I was trying to learn how to get better with using the manual focus on my camera.

Auto focus tends to make the things directly in front of it come into clear focus and there are some cases where the thing directly in front of me isn't what I'm trying to capture.

With the Nikon, even on auto focus, I can change which area of focus I want it to focus on. With the Sony, I can use auto focus then make adjustments to the focus, however there have been a few instances where the auto focus actually ends up readjusting once more as I go to take the photo.

I now have a Canon T2i and am looking to get even more practice in with this camera as well. I love learning new things and cultivating new skills. It makes the experience as a whole just that much better.
