its interesting and endearing 2 me the way ppl can like ~force~ friendship when ur surrounded by the same ppl so much like. summer camp cabins. a group of coworkers. like im just thinking that it isnt rlly Natural that my friends here are my classmates but these are just. the circumstances! we’re together for 6 hrs a day and so when we make plans we just. invite the ppl closest to us.
I'm gearing up for another month of writing. Much like I did in April, I have multiple projects going on at once.
I'm also still looking for cabin mates if anyone is interested. I was in a cabin, but no one was talking, and I need people who are willing to talk to keep me motivated. My user name's CatShine44.
Even if you're interested in being tumblr writing buddies instead, let me know. The more the merrier, right?
Below the cut, I'm going to be talking about my projects and their various levels of completion.
I'm still working on revising Of Lemurs and Crocodiles, which was my novel for November 2012's NaNo. I have decided to change the title because one of (and so far, my only) betas, told me that he didn't find the title relevant to the story. The story is now called Fragile, but Resilient.
It is currently about 70k, but quite a bit of a mess. It started out in an actual place, but I found that there were more and more issues with that as time went on, so now it is located in the fictional country of Verhara.
This is a romance/adventure novel that follows Laura and her unlikely companion, Raymond. She is a service volunteer from abroad and he is a British celebrity. She has issues with trust, and he's enjoying every moment of their journey.
If anyone out there is interested in reading Fragile, but Resilient, I would love to get some more input on it. I know a lot of what I would like to fix, but I'm still unsure that it's worth reading.
I'm also working on my novel from the April Camp this year, If I Should Fade Away. I never finished the basic draft of this story, and I would really like to.
If I Should Fade Away is the story of Sam, who finds herself suddenly invisible to her family and everyone who had known her. She is led into another world - the world of the invisible - by Keith, a friend she had known long ago. Can she return to life as she knew it? Does she want to?
I've got two new projects this month too.
The Future Altered is a Harry Potter fanfiction. Harry has just been selected as the fourth champion when he and several others find themselves in the mysterious "Reading Room." Here, they are directed to read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by a note sent from "The Unlikely Duo."
Learning about the future is one thing, will they use that knowledge to prevent the travesties that are to come.
I may possibly make this the first in a series. I don't know.
Finally, I want to write a collection of short stories called Dizziest Daydreams.
In this collection, I intend to convey a series of stories about characters who get the opportunity to meet celebrities they love. Sometimes something will come out of it, sometimes the daydream becomes a nightmare.
I think that about covers all of my projects. I guess I'm going to be a busy, busy bee this month. That's the way I like it. Maybe with so many stories to work on I won't run into writer's block. Maybe it will make block worse. I guess we'll see.
Of course, I just found out that I will be camping - like outside with campfires and tents camping - on the 1st and 2nd. I get home sometime on the 3rd. I plan to write by hand until I get home, but if it seems like I'm not writing, I promise I am.
If you've gotten all the way through this post, know that I love you. You're the best. And for getting all the way down here, you should tell me what you're writing about. I'm about as interested in what all of you are doing as what I am.
There were these two lovely people in my NaNo cabin, and we were talking about our writing. Since most of the cabin is quiet, it was nice to have them to talk to. Now, all of a sudden, they're gone.
I can't help but be a little sad. And wonder why they left. Now I'm left as the only one in my cabin who updates their word count everyday.
