Sasha: We’re going to have a party, Neil, and we’re not going to invite you!
Neil: YOU’RE NOT?! Oh, what a crushing blow! What a bitter disappointment!!
*girls walk away*
Erin: Did you see the look on his face?
Tabii: It was a scream!
Neil: It makes me feel good to know I’ve made those three girls so happy
Join us in our first ever IRL fundraising event for Camp Lilac: a safe space for trans youth to be themselves! We will be hosting an art show at Forest Hill Church this weekend. Find out more details in the video, or at https://www.facebook.com/events/554291074959344/.
If you are interested in donating but cannot come to the fundraiser, we have an online campaign where you can donate, at bit.ly/CampLilac!
If you stayed til the end of the video and want a link to The Elvendorks' twitter, you can find that at twitter.com/ElvendorksWrock.
If you stayed til the VERY end of the video and want to know where I got that ridiculously cool thing I showed you, it's all thanks to the Project for Awesome and my awesome friend @moretencents!
Our mission is to provide a safe, welcoming space for trans youth to be themselves in a positive, supportive, youth-focused environment.
Y’all! My mom and I started a nonprofit summer camp for trans kids in Ohio! Our first session is this August! There are tons more details on the website! Check it out, share it, spread the word!
Sasha: Boys are mean and rough, aren’t they?
Erin: I’ll say they are, but girls are different...girls are kind and gentle
All three *to Max/Neil/Nikki*: GET OUT OF THE WAY!!
Tabii: Girls are peace-loving and considerate
Calling all trans artists!!
As the world may already be vaguely aware, I am in the process of starting a non-profit summer camp for transgender youth, called Camp Lilac. It’s for campers aged 10-17, and CITs aged 18-20, and it will be located in Northeast Ohio. We are already accepting applications to attend, as well as applications for paid and volunteer work positions, so come join our community!
And here is where the trans artists come in: our umbrella organization was just awarded 501c3 status, which means we can start fundraising! We have many plans for different kinds of fundraisers, but the one I am most excited about can only happen with your help. We want to have an art show that features the work of trans artists, both IRL from artists in the area and digitally from any artist who is interested in contributing! So please, reach out either here on tumblr or through the email [email protected] if you’re interested in participating!
Thank you!
For all the more visual or auditory learners out there, here’s some important info about Camp Lilac, the summer camp for trans youth my mom and I are starting this summer in Ohio!
It's the tail end of Giving Tuesday but I wanted to shout-out a few organizations I love and really think is worth supporting. Starting smallest first.
Camp Lilac started as a summer camp and is now running a year-round discord for trans and gender diverse youth. Their team is in it for the kids and they're currently raising funds to make 2022's season the most successful to date. Donate here.
Fandom Forward was known as The Harry Potter Alliance for 15 years but has grown past the one fandom and turned focus to every strong fan community. Their goal is to inspire folks to activism through creative works from page and screen. Donate here.
Finally John and Hank Green. I'm not saying give these rich white men more money, but I am saying support their many (many, many) charitable works such as their project with Partners in Health where they are raising funds to build a maternal health center in Sierra Leone. More information and donate here.
Also John and Hank have hosted a 48hr event every year since 2007 called the Project for Awesome. Learn more about this event and how to participate here. 2022's P4A is scheduled for February 12-14.
