Read this brilliant book last month, but wanted to save this post until #NationalPoetryMonth bc it’s written in verse to great effect. I loved how intimate and incisive the verse made this story feel, which is fitting for the heavy material & the premise, which sets the entirety of the book within the span on an elevator ride. The ending is just right; no easy answers. I already thought this cover was 💯 but only recently noticed the blurry reflection of the boy in the metal! . . . Check out @jasonreynolds83 Twitter/blog for his 30/30 poem-a-day attempt for April. The one he posted today was powerful. I’m hoping to keep up with my own CampNanoWriMo goal of writing a poem a day for poetry month, so it’s inspiring to see someone else (whose work I admire!) doing the same! . . . Will you try out some poetry this month? Have you read A LONG WAY DOWN? What did you think? . . . #bookstagram #coverlove #tbt #poetrymonth #poetry #bookinverse #librarybooks #librarybookstagram #booknerd #booknerdigans #bookandoutfit #bibliophile #diversereads #AliceRecs #CampHers
