Working as a techie on #CanbyHighSchool's production of #Footloose in 2003 is an experience I'll never forget. It came at a time when I was spiraling down a massive depression hole that nearly ended with my suicide. During those bleak times, theatre and video production were my small rays of hope and happiness. Footloose was a huge part of that. This play, along with other experiences around the same time, did a lot to guide my life's initial sirection and helped me realize my true passions. I still struggle. I've taken wrong turns. But I keep going, and it's experiences like this that help me persevere. They help me remember rhat good things are all around me, and that it does get better. Not perfect, and not always easy, but better.
