i like to do this thing called candle time.

i bought this really cheapo candle at cvs because my yard didnt have any lights and i wanted to hang out after dark.  it wasnt strong enough for this purpose btw.  now it lives next to my bed

one day i came home from work and i had a terrible headache and i felt like shit so i turned all the lights off and turned the candle on and lay down in bed and said “candle time.”  i told my bf because i thought it was soooo funny.  i wait until he walks in the door, then I say “its candle time buddy.”  i told my mom, i told my coworkers. nobody thinks it is funny but me and i kept doing it bc i thought it was so funny and silly.

i did it enough that now i do candle time every night and it legit makes me feel ready to go to sleep and less anxious than i used to be before bed.  its like having a night light again.  candle time is my favorite time even though the candle is cheap and dirty and attracts so much dust and lint? and the bottom of the candle fell out and rolled under the bed one time . . . but its still candle time and its good and it helps me so i dont stay up all night long. i guess everyone was right and routines really are good for you.
