Cariño Ancestral House, The Candon City Museum, Brgy. Antonio, Candon City It was built at the same time the church was builtnuh 1700’s. There us a physical evidence for thus such as the similar markings on both the roofings of the church and the house. The characteristic design of the house reflects a fortification rather than purely residential. It must have been meant for the Alcalde Mayor or Gobernadorcillo of the town at that time. At present, it was turned into a museum that lets you go back at the old times with the display of photos of the different ancestral houses in Candon City. Then a room to commemorate the Sakada, the black sand of Darapidap, the tables and chairs of the old houses which were used as a sala set and dining set. A displaye of old and traditional dresses and garments and scupltures giving honor to heroes and significant people of the past like Diego Silang, Gabriela Silang, Fr. Jose Burgos, Isabelo Abaya and Gregorio Del Pilar. Indeed the Cariño Ancestral House, Candon City Museum is a good place to visit by people value our heritage. For people who wants to visit, it is located at the back of PNB.
