I added iridescent vinyl to my cane and crocheted a wrist strap for it!
Im planning on making some covers for it aswell because they're easy and repetitive but the vynil means it'll still be fun without one
Just realized I never shared the stuff I've crocheted for my cane!
The cover is loosely based off one I found on Ribblr (Linked below) but I had to edit it a bit to fit my specific handle
Since my cane's handle is hard plastic I find the cover very helpful! Plus the vines are cool looking too

HELLO LOOK AT MY BELOVED ELBOW CRUTCHES
I've been using these canes for two years now, a lot of these stickers are collections from a few years ago back when I was still in college, freebies from friends, artist conventions, and organizations I was in! You better believe I'll add more to this mess, each time a sticker falls out I'll add seven new ones
bonus pic with my pad because they match!
I’m really just looking for ideas on what to use to decorate my cane. Types of paint or something perhaps? It’s metal. I don’t need the perfect solution…just something that will stay for a while. Thanks!

Hi friend! So a lot of people decorate with washi tape, which you can put a lot of designs on and is fairly easy. Duct tape is I think, a little harder to work with, but comes in many fun patterns and colors! If you’re particularly artistic, you can use nail polish to paint a design on it, using colored polishes and then sealing it in with a clear coat of nail polish. If you do this, I’d suggest using actual paint brushes with the polish and not using the little brush that comes in the bottle. Another thing you could do is buy spray paint, and make or buy/use stencils to get your design on. Just make sure to do this outside or in a well ventilated area! You can also buy clear spray paint so that if youre worried about longevity of your art, just let it dry and add a coat or two of the clear to seal in and protect the color.
If you’re more interested in something easy, consider vinyl stickers. You can even order entire wraps in your design, on vinyl, or just get a decal of what you want. There are many shops that do this online or on etsy.
Next, I would suggest the wonderful world of... decoupage.
Ok it sounds silly, but using decoupage, you can cover your cane in paper. Why would you want to cover your cane in paper? Think of the possibilities!
You can print out pages of your favorite comic, and completely wrap your cane in it! You can copy pages from your favorite book (or fanfiction). You can paper it in your favorite quote, artwork, picture, you can even put nic cages face on it if thats what tickles your fancy - and its very inexpensive. You just need the paper printed with what you want, water, glue, and then something similar to a mod podge to seal.
Look at these super cool decoupage shoes! There are heaps of tutorials online to work from and so many possibilities.
Decoupage (or something similar) can also work with stickers, so if you don’t want it completely covered, go ahead and get some cute or cool stickers, clean your cane well and stick them on a nice dry surface of the cane. Seal it with mod podge so it doesnt peel back up.
One more idea I had was if you had a lot of friends or people you look up to, you might consider asking them to sign your cane! it’d be an awkward surface for sure, but a fun memory to carry with you always.
On a similar note, you could print and cut out signatures of your favorite artist, or maybe band logos, and either transfer them to your cane or trace/write them yourself.
If you’re not looking for anything permanent or feel like changing your look a lot but not your cane, you can buy cane covers that are removable online, or you could go ahead and sew yourself one if you have the means. I personally would love a dinosaur print cane.
Good luck decorating your cane, and have fun!
