Sky lore time & what fit in with the Season of Two Embers
These are some cannon lore + theories spawned from the poem below

The wounds of the past are never far from sight.
The light around us is in constant motion. Who could not see it? Who could not feel the joy of its movement?
Once, we guided the migrating flocks. Once, behemoths flew alongside us in peace. And then we took the light from the wind. The behemoths that remained were only the monuments to ourselves. Our cities shone with a captive glow. We were enraptured as we taught our machines to bind and hoard.
The world of the present can be healed, but our past cannot be undone. Jagged remnants lie in our wake, and even for the mountain it is too much to hold.

Found this poem from the sky cotl wiki while searching for lore.
This poem already hinted a LOT of the things that were introduced in part 1 of the Season of two embers. Such as;
‘And then we took the light from the wind’ is a mention of how the past residents of the kingdom under the king’s rule collected light from the creatures and the sky to power the machines seen in the sky world. (Such as elevators, doors, boats, etc.)
’Our cities shone with a captive glow.’ The glowing crystal - like structure seen infront of the king during his only appearance in the movie
‘We were enraptured as we taught our machines to bind and hoard.’ are the devices used to hoard light away from their origins
And these are the things confirmed by the movie so it’s cannon by now.

To add to the rest of the poems content, here are some personal theories based on the Season of Shattering void spaces and the trailer for the Season of Two Embers: part 2
‘Once, we guided the migrating flocks.’ The Season of Migration being introduced after the Season of Two Embers could be a way to show that kind of life the sky folks before the kings reign lived.
‘Once, behemoths flew alongside us in peace.’ This can be seen within the trailer as the elder mantas are being used for transport.
‘The behemoths that remained were only the monuments to ourselves.’ The ‘ourselves’ mentioned in the poem could be the Elders while the ‘monuments’ are the temples left abandoned.
+ Next season spoilers! (Confirmed + Theory)
