I had exactly 27 minutes from the time we put the kids to bed until the time I had to be on the phone for a team meeting. Self care is more than wine and a bubble bath. For the first time in a long time I’m taking time to take care of me. Time to feed my spirit and my creativity. . Women so often take care of everyone else and put everyone else above themselves and wear it like a badge of honor as if our love is measured by how exhausted we are. I am breaking that habit for myself. I CAN NOT TAKE CARE OF ANYONE UNTIL I TAKE CARE OF MYSELF! For me that looks like talking time to wake up, drink my cup of coffee and not picking up my phone until I have read a couple chapters of a book. (I LOVE TO READ yet, I haven’t read a book for myself in years! 😬) . Yesterday I tried a new routine and I’m so surprised how much I accomplished and how present I was throughout the day and, and.. how amazing I felt throughout the day! . For a month straight I’m challenging myself and you to wake up and immediately take care of YOU first thing in the morning. That may look different for you. Maybe it’s taking time putting on makeup, reading, yoga, meditation, prayer or all of the above.
