17: “Caorthannach, thought by some to be the devil’s mother, is a demon that was fought off by St. Patrick when he banished the snakes out of Ireland. The saint is said to have stood on the mountain now known as Croagh Patrick and expelled all the serpents and demons out of the Emerald Isle into the sea to drown. One monster, however, managed to escape – Caorthannach, the fire-spitter. The demon slid down a mountain away from the saint, but Patrick spotted her, and chased her down upon the fastest horse in Ireland, which was brought to him.The pursuit was a long one, and Caorthannach knew St. Patrick would need water to quench his thirst along the way, so she spit fire as she fled, and poisoned every well she passed.Though the saint was desperately thirsty, he refused to drink from the poisoned wells and prayed for guidance.Patrick eventually made it to the Hawk’s Rock, where he waited for Caorthannach. As the demon approached, he jumped out from his hiding spot and banished her from Ireland with a single word. The evil fire-spitter drowned in the ocean, leaving a swell behind that created the famous Hawk’s Well.”

Fun Fact:
One of the scariest creatures in Celtic folklore has gotta be the Caorthannach. Also known as the "Celtic fire-spitter" and believed by some to be the mother of Lucifer himself, Caorthannach was the name of an old witch that was part human, part serpent. Whenever she would emerge from her watery abode, she would wreak havoc, murdering travelers, burning down homes with families trapped inside and the rare few who evaded her initial torment would still be caught and devoured later.
The Caorthannach's reign of terror ended thanks to Celtic hero Finn McCool. He and his band of warriors lit her up with arrows and she died right on the spot. Except, a year later, a little turd named Conan broke her thigh bone, allowing a worm to crawl out and escape into a lake. That worm was Caorthannach and when she emerged out of the same lake fully grown and ready to terrorize a nearby town, Conan let her swallow him whole. Then he cut her open from the inside, beheaded her and threw her head into the lake. Her blood then permanently turned the lake red, and it was called "Loch Derg" or the "Red Lake" from then on.
Well she sounds... lovely, doesn't she?
Alien Infeysion 12: Caorthannach x Three-Eyed Giants
11/14/22 - Dozens witnessed this entity arrive in a public park in the middle of the day. The colossal entity covered an entire baseball diamond as it landed, and began to birth serpentine spawn that breathed sulfurous fire on to the idyllic green field. A child, Witness A, sought to fight back with a whiffle ball bat, but was engulfed in flames completely, and disappeared. This set off panic, which the entity may of misread as a riot against it, and called back their spawn and treated into a ball of flame. In its place, Witness A reappeared physically unscathed. Witness A has never spoken as to where he was transported, but his family has found several drawn pictures of a burning lake filled with eels hidden beneath his bed.

When the planet was just a swirling mass of vapors, waters, and rock, Caorthannach was hatched, deep inside the molten core of Earth. There, she waited. What was she waiting for? Well, being that she was, after all, the Mother of the Devil, she wasn’t a very nice creature, this fire-spitter. So, she was waiting for us. Humans. Prey for her demon-spawn children, and in particular, her son. True enough, she and her children were waiting for us… and oh, did Caorthannach’s family have fun once we got here!
