I noticed the lack of Captain EO fics, so I took it upon myself to write!! I am mainly inspired by Star Wars and some influences of Afrofuturism!! The reader is imagined as a Black/Brown woman.
synopsis: you've grown to learn quite a few things about your beloved captain! | 1.7k words
warnings: a bit suggestive/risque, but fluff nonetheless

Accomplishing missions without any trouble was quite rare for the ever exuberant Captain EO. With his crew of plucky misfits piloting at the speed of light, it was guaranteed that chaos followed them everywhere on their quests.
Despite all disarray, the young captain swore by his duties to change the world into a brighter place. He chose to do so with his own magnanimous efforts—specifically relying on dance and music.
At The Corps, he’s the songbird proposing wacky solutions with unbridled enthusiasm amongst his other peers. EO’s kind heart was purer than any mineral found in the entire galaxy, for it outweighed the bad reputation he earned.
Commander Bog knew EO meant well, hence the numerous chances he provided for him and his band of outcasts. All of the higher-ups at The Command wanted nothing more than to revoke his position. However, after EO’s grandeur approach to reviving the Dark Industrial Planet with a sacred beacon, he’s redeemed himself greatly.
The praise felt like an epiphany; he and his crew rightfully embraced their success as the higher-ups felt obligated to depend upon the bunch. Their drive surpassed any other squadrons no matter their unpolished methods, which ultimately landed them into an opportunity of a light year.
Quarks and cosmos aside, EO and his team had to escort an empress back to her home planet without any attention being brought. The last remnants of the Darkness swarmed heavily on leaders within the nebulas. It was risky for her highness’ fleet to follow amid calamity, so the last resort was for the Corps to ensure private security.
The Command wanted to put EO to the test, in hopes to really gauge his resilience and level of responsibility, so of course he was sent. His own flock was surely starstruck at the proposition, fearing the worse that could happen to such a highly-regarded person. Their captain was perplexed, but excitement shot through every fiber of his being.
You were a gorgeous woman, carrying such grace and elegance that rivaled the Moon itself. You exuded order and compassion for your people. Nothing but words of admiration fell from other diplomats’ mouths.
How could he not be possibly enamored by your regality?
Overall, the mission went surprisingly well. Save for “minor” hiccups on Hooter’s end, and the ship breaking down in the most remote location because of Major Domo’s negligence.
Or how often Idy and Ody bickered on the entire trip, causing the captain to swiftly chastise them for making a scene in your presence. Fuzzball remained attached to your shoulder, drawn to your inviting nature (to which EO was devastatingly annoyed [jealous] about).
Fortunately, you enjoyed the dynamic as it gave you a taste of normalcy. Being shoved into a powerful role at a young age caused you to miss out on a lot in your youth. You sought to have fun and live freely from diplomacy for a change, to which you found in the curly-headed captain.
From there, a connection sparked that neither the stars in the Milky Way could write. It was something felt within the force; a powerful attraction bringing you together. The two of you secretly kindled a bond, constantly keeping in contact. Most of EO’s squad believed you two were friends in an alliance to evade all darkness. The only one aware was Fuzzball, who caught his Captain admiring a hologram of you while everybody was not present. The winged-alien recalled how flustered EO was with tinged red cheeks and ears, but it didn’t phase him. Fuzzball was quite fond of you as well, so he kept the secret (with a few bribes).
You had a grounding aura, which made you someone that could level the captain’s recklessness. You eased EO’s worries after a failed mission, or offered to help repair any of his gadgets from mayhem. You became a prominent figure that EO never knew he lacked, and he was determined to stay by your side forever.
The only setback was that neither of you could profess your love out loud yet. He wasn’t a royal figure and members of The Corps were forbidden to have close relationships in their line of work. For you, your public image would be tarnished if people found out.
Luckily, that didn’t matter because EO wasn’t one to conform to The Command. If only they could see him now in your private quarters; the two of you were on your canopy bed, indulging in domesticity.
You threaded your fingers through EO’s jet-black curls, in awe of how well refreshed they were during the lengthy excursions. He laid in your lap, clad in his prisma-colored tee and a linen pair of pants he opted for instead of his leather ones. His eyes were shut, eyelashes fluttering as rhythmically as Fuzzball’s wings. He hummed a melodic tune to break the stillness that cloaked you both.
Your hands skimmed along his scalp before moving back to cup his cheeks, “You’re always singing, my dear.”
EO huffed a shy chuckle and opened one eye with a mischievous gleam, “You don’t?”
It was your turn to shake your head at his antics, a wide grin etching your lips.
“Not everyone is blessed with such talent, EO. Was that part of your training?” You poked his nose, egging him on.
“C’mon…are you being rude? I just like to sing…” he murmured, bringing his ungloved hand to catch yours. “How uncivilized of you, milady.”
The captain leaned up to bring your hand to his lips, pressing light kisses while meeting your eyes. You could see the twinkles amongst his pupils as he held your gaze. The captain positioned himself to sit across from you and moved your hand back to his cheek. He melted at your touch, all while focusing on your own appearance.
You wore a bare visage, free from any royal makeup and dramatic contour. There was no longer a dramatic headdress, extravagant gowns, or meticulous hairstyles. Just you in a long, flowy nightgown with your coily tresses plaited into a sophisticated braid over your shoulders. Occasional beads and gems were ornately sprinkled in each segment of the plait, making you look ethereal than any other constellation in the sky.
EO became infatuated with the crinkle of your eyes and the sculpt of your nose. But, most importantly your lips.
On cue, you closed the distance, coursing your fingers in his hair to allow your mouths to meet. EO slid his other hand underneath your nightgown, caressing the silky, smooth skin of your brown thighs. You tugged at his curls in response, receiving a quiet whine from his lips. His fingers lit up and sparked against your legs, the sensation pulsating throughout your entire body.
You both were tangled in each other’s embrace, ignoring the soft glow radiating across all corners of the room. You moved your lips to his jaw, pressing chaste kisses all the way down to his neck. Discreetly, you observed every note and octave of sighs released from EO, as he completely complied to your touch.
The corpsman pulled you into his lap, rubbing the exposed surface on your back with tenderness. He tugged and gripped on almost every part of you. His hands fervently squeezed your thigh once more. As a result, he felt you nip at a sensitive area you both hadn’t known about, causing beam rays to light up your view and soon every crevice of your room.
He jolted back, eyes widening to scan your surroundings for any intruders. Methodically, his field of vision surveyed the space and once he felt satisfied, he checked for your safety. EO looked at your expression searching for signs of fear or danger, but he was only met with bewilderment turned giggles.
“Your Highness, are you okay?” he breathed out softly, reaching for your hands. His tone was frantic, yet morphed into confusion at your harmonious laugh. Of course he would formally address you after practically eating your face off.
You couldn’t contain the laughter spilling out for the current predicament became too comical. You leaned forward into his shoulder, hoping to muffle the sounds to avoid suspicion from any nearby guards.
Your lover looked at you, skeptical of your current state. He fearfully glanced around once more to make sure no one was watching. Not only would he be in deep trouble, but your reign was at stake.
“Um, what happened?” His soft voice laced with concern coaxed you out of your mania.
With quiet heaves and quick breaths, you calmed down and laced your fingers with EO’s to minimize his stress.
“You lit up, my love. You’re glowing, literally,” you lifted your hands, demonstrating the entire situation. “I think you got…a bit too excited.” Your hand contrasted with his, showcasing just how illuminating he was.
The leader flushed with embarrassment, and evaded your stares. He mumbled under his breath, ignoring the growing smile on your face.
“What was that? EO, speak up,” you lifted his chin and seemed far too pleased at his behavior. His face only turned a brighter red and the state of his body remained aflame.
“Captain.”
His head snapped up at the title , allowing you to sneak a peck on his cheeks. He ached at the direct contact, then slightly winced at how short-lived it came to be. EO sighed and looked at you with a flash of shame.
“I didn’t mean for that to happen. ‘M sorry.”
“Nonsense, it was a surprise. Did you know you could always do that?” You played with his dazzling fingers, marveling at the stardust emanating in the air.
“When I’m dancing or in combat, yes. But, no. Not like…that,” he replied shyly, replacing the glowering from before.
“It’s unique, all parts of you are,” you murmured after stealing quick glimpses of EO’s doe-like pout. His dark-brown eyes timidly bounced from his hand to your face, still feeling guilty of ruining a precious moment.
His own demons rarely showed around his crew, but in your arms? He was a vulnerable man. EO was able to let his guard down, and free himself from the weight of the world on his shoulders. He could only imagine that you were doing the same, allowing his agitation to dissipate. EO would give up the entire intergalactic empire to see you happy.
“Yeah? I guess I am one-of-a kind,” the leader added with a hint of pride, pulling away to wrap his arms around you. He pressed a kiss to your forehead, “Thank you, your majesty.” A tease.
“Don’t get too ahead of yourself,” you rolled your eyes, peppering his cheeks. “Does this mean we can test something out? Just one more time—”
Yearning for a man who's of higher rank is not for the weak of heart...
A/N: This will be the first MJ post on my blog, HOLY, and it might be one of my favourite fics I've written so far (other than the ending because I really suck at them) Please be nice everybody!
Pairing: Captain EO x CrewMate!Reader
Warnings: loosely follows the og plot, fem!reader, probably mischaracterisation of captain eo (too little to go off of, sorry!), inaccurate sci-fi, yearning (duh), eo saved reader from her home planet, i took the liberty of naming some things, draws some references from star wars (as it is referenced in skeleton crew)

Floating through the endless abyss of space is an experience you'd recommend to anyone who'd ask.
Stars scattering across the shadowy sky, the thrill of adventure causing a prickling sensation to bloom from the tips of your fingers to behind your eyes, awaiting the next mission with the determination and perseverance of an underdog with far too much confidence.
Nothing beats the feeling.
The ability to create a difference - to make discoveries, to explore where others could only imagine, to save lives.
To be a hero.
...but there is a slight problem.
Perhaps it was the close proximity between yourself and the captain, or maybe a longing for a connection with another human being - it doesn't really matter.
A feeling with a dangerous similarity to desire has planted itself in the deepest depths of your heart, and has continued to grow at an alarming rate.
Now, falling for your captain? That - you wouldn't recommend.
Soft, doe eyes circle around to meet yours. His dark curls bouncing slightly at the movement, "Any luck on finding the map Commander Bog gave us?"
There it is.
The gentle voice that worms its way into your every fantasy.
Captain EO.
Leader of the Electric Crew, dance-fighter extraordinaire, and sole pilot of the Moonwalker.
The man of your dreams – who just so happens to be your boss.
It’s not your fault, per say.
He was, and still is, your saviour.
From what, you ask?
Saviour from eternal boredom back on your home planet; where you’d be forced to wed a man who couldn’t care less about you (other than the fact you possess the correct equipment to reproduce), and tend to a home that serves as a prison for the rest of your measly life.
You can somewhat recall pledging your loyalty to the captain during your first meeting – but over time, it seems that you have continuously given him more and more of yourself, under the innocent guise of admiration and trust.
You know better now.
Blinking the remnants of affection glistening in your eyes away, you find yourself responding – rather dumbly, “It appears that Hooter has eaten it, sir.”
Hooter was the crew’s designated comedic-yet-frustratingly-annoying relief; an elephant-like creature that wreaks havoc whenever he finds the chance, and whose stomach has a never-ending appetite.
The man tilts his head, jet-black brows nearly kissing each other in bewilderment, “What?” Quiet rustling accompanies his question, the metallic embellishments on his outfit knocking against each other with every step he takes.
Defying the usually-cold temperature of space, heat begins to rise from your neck, a sudden explosion of shyness overtaking you.
Clearing your throat in hopes to rectify whatever mistake you think you made, you try again, “He- Hooter, um, has eaten the map, sir.”
The captain has an aura about him that seems to render you entirely useless. Merely meeting his gaze melts your mind, making you more accident-prone than one would assume.
Your clumsiness earned you the nickname, ‘Space Brain’ - a childish tease the rest of the crew concocted when you were caught spacing out on multiple occasions.
Not that Captain EO ever participated.
You try not to overthink that particular choice of his.
“And you didn’t feel the need to tell me?” Your admission elicits a sigh of frustration from the captain, running a hand down his face all the while. “We’re already the laughingstock in the eyes of the Command – the ones who always, without fail, mess up – and now, this!”
Pushing several stray wisps of glossy hair, exposing his forehead, EO’s disbelief of how quickly things turned sour is dreadfully obvious, “That map was our only hope of finding the homing beacon. Without it, well…” He throws himself into the Moonwalker’s command chair, “I don’t know what we’ll do.”
Captain EO snaps his head back to lean against the neck rest, wide eyes falling shut, craving for a moment of peace on this trialling journey – dropping a hand on the centre console, fidgeting with the knobs to alleviate some stress.
“If I may, sir,” you begin, left foot twitching forward half an inch, “is it not possible for us to use the ship’s navicomputer? I’m sure it would prove a lot simpler and far more efficient.”
Ending the suggestion with a timid smile, you watch as the captain slowly opens a single eyelid – the other too tired to do the same. His squint sweeps over your figure, sensing the anxiety buzzing through you. Letting out a low sigh, EO pushes off his thighs to stand.
“With the disaster that was our last mission, the navicomputer has been malfunctioning non-stop – and I have not found the time nor the right mechanic to repair it.”
Unbuckling the clasps of his jacket, he slides it off his arms, revealing a white shirt with a lopsided rainbow spanning from his hip to above his shoulder. He places it on his chair with the tenderness of a child with their favourite stuffed animal; the garment holding many a memory of past travels.
It was unusual, and quite unexpected to witness the captain in such a casual state – as he believes that looking the part is just as important as playing the part.
The rare sight of his toned forearms makes a flush of heat gather on your cheeks; feeling both pleasantly surprised at his comfortability when in your presence, and flustered at his lack of formal attire.
Captain EO takes a lap around the bridge, a habit you’ve noticed he partakes in when pondering – losing himself in his thoughts, using his nimble fingers to pinch the soft skin of his lips, concentration glazing over his eyes.
Breaking the intangible silence, you find the courage to ask, “Why don’t I give it a try?”
His head whips back at a speed that rivals that of a starfighter, a piercing glare looming over his features – and suddenly, his voice descends to a lower register.
“What?”
The question fills you with familiarity; déjà vu from just minutes before. But this time, scrutiny lingers in his expression instead of confusion.
As if setting yourself up for failure, your tongue decides to twist itself, lessening the impact of your statement, “I-I said, I could maybe, potentially, take a… crack at it? At fixing the navicomputer? Sir?”
‘Who says crack? Idiot!’ You scream into the void of your psyche, wincing at the phrasing. Talking to a captain in such a way should be warrant for suspension.
Well, that could likely be an overreaction on your part, but it was embarrassing, nonetheless.
To your astonishment, EO levels you with a blank stare, once again stuck in the palace of his mind, conjuring a response for such a ridiculous proposition. How could you, a lowly - but beloved - crewmate restore such complex machinery such as a navicomputer?
Sweat beads at your temples, fingers slipping against one another when balled in a fist – gulping, you anticipate his reaction.
EO’s head shifts subtly, seemingly returning to himself, “And just how do you suppose to do that?” Chocolate eyes initiating contact with yours, the darkness of the room causing them to dilate – creating the illusion of having no sclera at all. The intensity of his stare is alike to a tiger about to pounce on its prey, but you see no reason to be afraid.
His lack of faith is understandable, as you’ve shown no skill or talent in tinkering, but it weakens your spirits a noticeable amount.
“As you know, my home planet is famous for its renowned mechanics,” not wanting to come across as arrogant, you flick your line of sight to the floor, “and growing up surrounded by that culture, I’ve got a handful of knowledge up my sleeve. If you would only give me the opportunity to repair the navicomputer, sir, maybe then you could forgive me for withholding information?”
You finish the rant with a pained grimace, wondering if you were speaking over your station, until-
A muffled snicker echoes throughout the room.
Lifting your head, you’re met with the vision of Captain EO hastily covering his mouth to prevent more laughs from escaping.
“Sir?” You feel your heart drop to your feet, “What’s so funny?”
The man only shakes his head in response, a boyish grin plastered on his face, “I just find it kind of silly how you think I’m the type to hold a grudge.”
Marching towards you until your toes nearly touch, EO reaches for your hands – engulfing them in his own, and whispers, “You were forgiven the moment I saw that guilty look on your face.” He tilts your head up with his index, reinforcing his words with an equally forceful action.
“You never have to worry about that with me. No matter what happens, no matter how many maps Hooter eats, and no matter how many times we ‘fail,’” he exaggerates with air quotes, “I will always find it in my heart to forgive you. That, I promise. Understood?”
You fight the urge to weep at his words, voice wavering as you settle for, “Yes, sir.”
A playful roll of his eyes ensues at your answer, the stoic façade from before washed away by his childlike nature. Mischief dances in his expression as he asks, “How ‘bout this? You do your darndest – and I mean, darndest – to fix the navicomputer, and I’ll allow you to drop the honorifics.”
As if drenched with ice water, colour disappears from your face, horror taking its place.
“But-!”
The captain tuts at your interruption (his greatest pet peeve), slotting a pointer finger against the plump of your lips, “At-tut-tut! No buts. Consider this an order. Or a punishment. Whichever you feel suits best.”

it’s me! : had fun writing this ! Can’t wait to finish up part 2 hope you guys enjoy it ^^ please leave comments it gives me so much motivation and idea on what to do next.
A leader has three obligations. Learn, Marry, and Lead with righteousness. You had trained your whole life within the walls in the palace for this very season. You walked around your room trying to find a way to avoid the destiny of being married to one you didn't love just because it was the duty of one to claim the throne. You were conflicted. You wanted to be a leader, a good one but you didn't want to be forced into something as serious as a lifetime marriage to be deemed a leader worth following.
A week. A week is all you had before you had to marry. It was time to decide. Freedom in an unknown world or imprisonment in a familiar one. You paced around to pick up random things that would fit into "things I need to survive outside" and tossed them on the bed. You went to find a bag to put the objects in. Your mind raced as you forced things into the bag before slinging it over your shoulder.
You slowly walked to your balcony trying to think if this is the right thing to do, go against everything you were raised to do. You stood on your balcony trying to slow your heartbeat from the adrenaline rush you had. You looked down at your feet and took a deep breath. Before you could throw your leg over the ledge a ship crashed into the same woods you had scoped out weeks before hand.
A smile spread across your face. A ship wasn't supposed to fly in this area without permission, and there were no ships meant to fly through this area for another two weeks due to the wedding preparations. If this was something, threat or not, it could hold off the wedding. You could see guards running towards the direction of the smoke rising from the woods.
You slowly stepped back into your room and put your bag down. You walked over to your bed and sat down, your head leaning against the wooden canopy post. You hoped that something big would happen, something that would change your future, even if it was temporary.
Hours passed. You stared at your ceiling for what felt like hours. Your mind raced about what could possibly happen when you get a knock on your door, since you weren't immediately called down that means it was something serious and that made you sink into a deeper thought. When you finally got a knock on your door you jumped up with a quickness, fixing your posture and hair.
"Come in please." You called out.
A servant slowly walked into your room and handed you a scroll that had a ribbon that immediately made you realize who it was from, your mothers signature sign covering the ribbon. You looked up at the servant while holding onto the scroll.
"Do you know anything about what happened?" You questioned.
The servant slightly leaned forward in a bow, avoiding your eye contact before replying.
"No, your highness..My apologizes."
You looked back down at the scroll in your hand and slowly opened it. The scroll had information about an intruder who is being kept in the palace cells until they can be transported out. " Not native to this planet and intentions are unknown." stuck out like a sore thumb. You continued to read before getting to a certain part.
"Wearing odd clothes yet wears a bracelet that seems native."
This made you curious. You wanted to see for yourself. What did this stranger look like. Did they look like you or any of the species you've read about in books. You stood up with the scroll still in your hand and walked over to your dresser. You looked at the scroll one more time before looking at yourself in the mirror.
You placed the paper down before reaching over to your crown that you had roughly dashed onto the dresser earlier while contemplating your life decisions. Your hands trembled as you picked up your crown and placed it on your head. You took a deep breath before looking in the mirror once again. Your posture and face changed, switching from a girl in a crisis to someone who carried themselves with dignity.
"Can you escort me to our locked chambers?" you turned to the servant. "I need to see something, but it must stay between us."
As you walked down towards the chambers you could feel your heart beating out of your chest. When you were greeted by guards you used some excuse of being sent by your mother to interview the one not native to test your negotiation and interviewing abilities, hoping that your mother didn't make this an off-limit place for you.
To your surprise they let you in with no problem, leading you to the very cell he was being kept in. The walk was long, the guard trying to engage in small talk that was one-sided as you never said a word back to him due to your brain being in overload from the slight excitement and fear of what could possible be behind those doors.
As you walked closer to where he was held you could see other species you had seen in story books also being held in cells, it could only make you wonder if they there before him or came with him. The guard banged on the cell door and spoke one word in a language you didn't understand before opening the door.
When he opened the door, your eyes widened.
It was a younger man. He looked to be of the same species as you. Just a regular human or humanoid. His hands were shackled together while his ankle was attached to a chain. He didn't seem like a threat and since his chains weren't too big you figured that he didn't act deranged during his capture. It would be a shame if someone that attractive was out of their mind. You walked into the cell to get a closer look. The man stood up and tried to speak to you, but you couldn't understand a word. As he spoke you noticed the bracelet on his wrist. Your Bracelet.
"Excuse me." You turned around to face the guard who was practically hovering over you. "Can I be alone with him. He doesn't seem to post a threat. I want to question him privately." You softly spoke.
During this the man stopped speaking, finally realizing you spoke a whole different language. He sat still and watched the guard walked out of the cell, closing the door behind him. You turned back around to face the strange man who was wearing your bracelet.
"What's your name..?" You tried to slowly question, hoping he would understand at least basics. "Name..?" You repeated yourself.
He said something, yet the only thing you could understand was the sounds of EO, but you didn't know if that was a name or another word that sounded similar to letters in your native alphabet. You softly repeated it back to him while looking him in the eyes. He nodded, pointing at himself and repeated it slowly.
You could solve this. It was really easy if you wanted to understand him, but you didn't want to put yourself in a situation you couldn't get out of. You regretted not studying languages over studying different art forms so you didn't have to rely on the odd way of gaining language knowledge. At least not yet, not until you checked something.
You pointed at your bracelet he wore, causing him to look down at his wrist. He shook his head and pointed in a random direction as if it would tell you where he had found it. This made you think, maybe he found your bracelet because he was sent by the heavens. He crashed and found it to save you from your situation. He seemed calm and non threatening, maybe you could use this to your advantage. It's not like you were going to completely use him, he was attractive, and hopefully nice.
You put your finger up, trying to tell him one minute. He stood still waiting for whatever was to come. You stepped closer to him, closing the space between the two of you. Your hands found his shackled ones, grazing the cuffs before holding his hands. You gently placed one kiss on his forehead, then another on his lips. You could feel his hand twitch in response but he didn't dare move or try to pull away from you.
You finally pulled away from him and took a step back. One of your hands found your throat, fingers softly rubbing against your neck. The man stared in silence as you cleared your throat. The sound filling the room. It was very awkward, the random kiss and now you trying to clear your mind and throat as he watched your every movement.
"Odd man…what's name?" You finally spoke with grammar that would embarrass your ancestors who had spent lifetimes studying.
"What is your name?" He replied, trying to correct you in the nicest way.
"Sorry. Yes, what is your name." You asked once again.
"EO. Captain EO." He spoke clearly. "And you are?" A small flush appearing on his cheeks.
You told him your name and status. It seemed he truly didn't pay attention to a word that came out your mouth. Well—he surely was paying attention to your mouth. His face becoming more and more flushed as you talked. It's not like this was his first kiss, but it sure was the first with a gorgeous stranger or a person of your stature all together. Your accent was something he'd never heard before, yet it hit his ears in all the right ways.
You may have picked up his language from a kiss, but it didn't mean you knew everything, commonly using pronoun terms in parts of the sentence where it wasn't supposed to be. Yet something about the mistakes were so charming.
"Can help—" you took a moment to think before saying something else. "I can help you get out." You softly said.
"Yeah? How so." He sassily replied.
You could tell he was doubting your ability to help, maybe being too used to a disgusting Patriarchy. Where your voice may not be that important when it came to political or those considered criminals. You looked down at the bracelet one more time before looking into his eyes.
It took hours and debates on why a meeting couldn't be held off until the next morning, but you insisted on a meeting this late at night, stating that the future of your leadership depended on it. You didn't explain anything, you didn't explain why your leadership was at stake, leaving them desperate and curious enough to agree to such a late meeting.
Your mother didn't attend—mostly because she could care less about your affairs after you agreed to marry someone she chose—allowing you to have full control of the situation without any type of protest. After the council poured in you followed suit. You sat uncomfortable in your mother's throne, a throne that foreshadowed your future.
It was cold and uncomfortable for someone with such wealth and a nation to carry the seat wasn't a bit comfy, maybe that's something you'd change when it's finally yours. Why would you want to lead in such a grueling position.
"I have called this meeting for a very important reason. As I've said the future of this throne is at stake." You spoke with a commanding tone, pausing to look around before continuing. "I have found something very important with someone that you've chosen to hold within our chambers."
You stood up from your seat; your hands held in front of you as a small smile spread across your face. The doors of the council room opened, and EO and his team slowly walked in. When he reached the center of the room you walked down to meet him. In this room no man should ever look you in the eye unless they were of a certain status, most men keeping their heads down as you talked to them. Yet EO kept eye contact with you the whole time, earning distasteful whispers from those that surrounded the two of you.
EO then bowed. You raised your arm searching for a response. He took no time to look back up and grab ahold of your hand before placing a kiss on it, holding eye contact. A small sound left your mouth, you may have just talked about him doing this very action, but you didn't expect him to do right away. You could feel your face warming up, it was embarrassing how something planned could make you react that way. EO looked over to his wrist before reading—very poorly even after practice— a sentence that was engraved on the bracelet.
You didn't tell him what he was saying nor what it meant. You didn't want to mention the words that he just spoke was a love confession that is an equivalent to a proposal. You ignored all the chatter and protest that filled the room. You turned around and walked back to your future throne. You stood in front of the throne and proudly announced what was on your mind.
"I've accepted this man to be my groom, over the next week there will be wedding changes. The last groom was not fit. A man should be musically inclined and have aspirations for our nation's children and future." You paused. Your mind thinking of what to say next. "Our last option in no way shared those ideas. If a man is not fit for children, we should get rid of them..yes?" You questioned with no intent of being debated.
The crowd couldn't protest, even if they wanted to, they couldn't do anything. All they could do was wait until your mother found out the next morning.
"Will you show my friends to a comfortable setting." You said pointing at his team. "Meeting adjourned" You announced.
You pointed at EO and pointed at the ground in front of you. You were telling him to come to you in such a doggish way, yet he didn't protest, speedily walking over to you. You grabbed his wrist when he reached you, not giving him any time to say anything before you dragged him out with you.
When you would walk back to your room a group of servants would usually follow you closely behind, yet this time they were feet behind as if you were carrying a disease. It was unbelievably awkward. You unconsciously gripped EO's wrist super tight. He didn't say anything to you though, maybe realizing something huge had happened. He may have not understood but he had his ideas.
When you finally made it back to your room you shoved him in before slamming the door behind the two of you. You threw yourself against the door and sighed, it felt like you had been holding your breath that whole walk. You began to complain in your native language, taking off your heels and throwing them on the ground. You began to pace and talk about how scared you were about what was to come tomorrow.
EO didn't understand a thing but didn't interrupt you. He silently moved and picked up your heels that you had carelessly dashed. It took you five minutes to realize the reason he wasn't replying was because he didn't understand.
"I'm sorry." You softly spoke in a language he could understand, finally looking at him.
You finally got another good look at him. This time he wasn't in chains and stood straight up. His limbs were long, hands looked nice, and his face was perfect. You walked over and stood directly in front of him, grabbing his face and pulling him down closer to yours so you could get a closer look. In the process he dropped your shoes.
"You're very handsome odd man." You spoke as you turned his face with your hands. "You don't have a persons do you?"
EO was completely taken off guard by how blunt your words were and touchy you were to someone you just met.
"Pers— no? I don't think so." He replied. His face getting warm underneath your hands.
"Ok. Good. You're mine now. I've chosen you for groom. Blessings." You smiled in his face.
"Pardon?" He quickly pulled back from you, backing himself into a wall.
Was this a good thing or a bad thing? A gorgeous woman who's literally a princess saying your her groom. Yet it was iffy due to the fact you barely knew each other. Hell, the two of you met in a cell. How did that make EO marriage material especially without him technically saying yes.
"I said I could get you out. Yes? I'm also trying to get out. Marriage is easy way out." You stated. You shrugged your shoulders as if what was just said wasn't a big deal.
"Marriage isn't a joke— I mean this is serious." His eyebrows pushed together in confusion. "I don't think marrying a stranger is a good idea..especially for you princess." His tone soft yet blunt.
"You're not a stranger. Not anymore." You walked up to him and placed your hands on the wall beside him, trapping him where he stood. "Am I not pretty?" You pouted.
EO tried to reply but he started stuttering. You were practically playing in his face, and he couldn't argue at all. He turned his head away from you, looking at anything.
"Yeah—yeah but what does tha—uh…I just want to know why you think this is a good idea." he replied. "How would—how could this help you." He finally looked back at you.
You finally backed away from him. "I guess I should be honest to my groom." you whispered to yourself before looking him in the eyes. "It takes a lot to explain."
"A lot of time?" He questioned, once again correcting you. It seemed like every time you made a mistake he was going to correct you unconsciously.
"Yes ! too much time to explain."
"I'll listen." He spoke gently, backing off the wall. "Even if it takes all night, I'll listen."
You smiled at his response. You wanted to tell him the eye contact was rude, but you were enjoying it. Your fiancé never looked your direction out of "respect". Who knew eye contact could be such a nerve-wracking thing. You turned away from EO and walked over to your room door before opening it.
"Can you fetch my guest some clothes..." You turned back to look EO up and down. "Something large maybe…?" You spoke to one of the servants outside of the door.
You shut your door and used your open palm to point him towards your bed. He hesitated to move before you used your eyes to direct him out of impatience, causing him to move.
He sat down at the edge of your bed, looking uncomfortable as he tried to not take up too much space. You smiled at him finding his words and actions not aligning cute. He spoke sweetly yet his actions were one of a scary man. You sat next to him and didn't leave any space between the two of you, testing the waters.
EO's face was flushed. The way both of you were acting with each other wasn't the norm or what you were used to when first meeting someone. You were overly blunt and touchy, while he was being what was seen as rude in your culture. He may have been looking in your face, but he was still being extremely respectful and polite. The two of you sat in silence for a minute, trying to figure out what topic to speak about first.
"I'm not against it." EO finally spoke, breaking the silence. "You have your reasons, so I won't judge you. You don't have to be scared to tell me. Just speak freely." He softly said, his knee bumping against yours.
"Scared? Never me. Don't be silly." You tilted your head to the side and made a face that read "are you serious". "Where should I start..." you spoke to yourself.
"The beginning. Tell me everything. Anything about you, your situation, or your land" EO butted in. He wanted to know everything. If he was going to marry you it's only right to learn about you.
You laid back against the bed and put your hands on your stomach. You were already way too comfortable with him. You began to talk about your status and land. You quickly brushed over that before speaking about your engagement. As a future leader your future was already decided for you, you've never had a problem with things being set up or handed to you, expect till now. Your next task was to marry some wealthy boy who had connections to your family.
A man of your culture had to have certain ideals and standards to be considered a perfect groom. He wasn't a bad man, but you couldn't stand the idea of not at least being able to marry someone you could truly grow to love and lead with. Marrying a man with no proper morals or care for fine arts or children is not where you saw yourself.
"Can you sing?" You looked over at EO
"I—yeah? I think so." He replied, scratching the back of his head in confusion.
"Would you breed with me?" you playfully asked to mess with him. His stance on children wasn't important to you right now. You just wanted to make sure he was paying attention.
"PARDON?" EO jumped from the question. He tried to rephrase the question for you, even if you truly meant to ask that. "You mean would I have kids? I would." He once again looked around the room trying to find a random object to focus his gaze on.
You pointed at him with another smile on your face. "Good answer. I knew it." You ignored his flushed face to continue talking about yourself.
You continued on and on, eventually sitting up to talk about yourself more. You talked about your future, your plans for the throne, and a small vision of your short marriage. You tried to not speak much on the marriage; it wasn't a real one so why spend time speaking on it. The night wind drifted into your room. It had to be past three in the morning, yet you were still speaking.
Your eyes were getting heavy, but your mouth still moved. Your head eventually found EO's shoulder unknowingly. You had always leaned against your canopy pole but now that it was blocked your usual lean landed you against EO. Your talking slowed before you fell fully asleep. He didn't move, not yet. He wanted to make sure you were actually asleep before moving.
The room door finally opened and a servant ran in. "YOUR HIGHN—" The servant was cut off by EO putting his finger over his lips and softly shushing the servant.
The servant had taken too long to fetch the clothing, if you were awake, you would probably chastise them. Thankfully you were out cold. An early morning, ruined runaway plan, your odd way of learning a language, and fake proposal had tired you out. The world around you feeling like a void of nothingness. The servant bowed and put the clothing on the chair before speedily leaving the room. EO looked over at you to see if there was any sign of you waking up.
He waited a few minutes before he put his hand on the back of your head and used his other to hold you as he laid you back on the bed. He got up and went over to where the servant put the clothes. He wanted to properly lay you in bed but there was no way he was going to do so by getting on your bed with clothes that have touched the unknowns in cell. Sitting on the edge of your bed was already enough.
He looked around your room for a place to get changed. There wasn't even a clothing divider. You didn't own one, people dressed you in the mornings so there wasn't anything to hide. He looked over to your balcony and was thankful it didn't look like it showcased your room. EO took a gander. You were sleep and nobody would be able to see him from the balcony. He looked over at you one more time before attempting to quickly change as quietly as he could.
He took off his jacket and draped it across the arm of your mini couch. He held up what the servant had brought and tried to hold back a laugh. It was a night gown. It looked like a dress, but that was something commonly worn to bed in your culture regardless of gender. He went to take off his shirt and that's when you finally decided to jump up. The sound of your gasp and arm and feet hitting the ground startled EO.
"A woman bust—musrt—" Your speech slurring, mixing up bust with must, then going on the mispronounce must. Your eyes were slightly half open, looking uneven. One eye open while the other couldn't decide if it wanted to show itself or not. EO froze. Shirt in hand.
Both of your eyes finally opened, just for a little before returning to the uneven look. "Very nice." you spoke in your native before slowly laying yourself back down. He felt like he had been holding his breath the whole time, only breathing out when you had laid back down before quickly scrambling to put on the night gown.
After he put on the gown, he folded up his clothes and placed them neatly on your couch. EO looked over to you. You were sprawled about. Your legs dangling off of the bed as your arms were above your head. Your mouth was slightly open, showcasing the fact you kept running your mouth even in your sleep. He smiled at the sight of you in the state before crawling onto the bed. He wanted to make sure you were comfortable. The position you were in would probably cause you pain in the morning.
He wrapped his arms underneath your knees, and another hand found your back. He tried to slowly lift you so he wouldn't awaken you, Moving you higher onto the bed. When he laid you down on your pillow he realized he should've pulled the blanket back to put you under them. He tried to pull the cover from under you carefully.
"Lay down." you whispered in your native. Lifting your hand to reach for EO.
"Mhm.." EO hummed sarcastically. "Get under the blanket Princess." he softly directed you, his hand slowly sliding under your legs to lift them up slightly to get the blanket from under you. He gently put your legs back down before covering you up.
He tried to move from beside you without realizing your hand was holding onto him. He wasn't trying to lay next to you, he thought it would be disrespectful. You may have fallen asleep on him but that wasn't permission for him to sleep in the same bed as you, let alone right beside you.
At least he thought. He wanted to get up but for someone who was half asleep you sure had a tight grip. EO was caught between his moral compass and the situation he found himself in. You kept whispering things he couldn't understand, causing him to give up. He slowly laid down beside you, your hand still holding onto him.
By the morning you had shuffled closer to EO. Your face was in his chest, the hand that had previously held onto him finally limped up, being balled into a fist against his chest. EO's arm wrapped around you at one point of the morning as if inviting you into a hug. For people that only had a few hours to bond and share backgrounds—at least on your side—you were way too comfortable. You would be lying if you said you didn't find him attractive.
Maybe that's why you were so comfy, hell if he wasn't even going to stay long what's the harm in having fun? Maybe it was because you were mixing the last thing you saw with your dreams, dreams full of the odd man you had just met. Dreams that would cause you to shift and smile in your sleep.
It wasn't perverted, just normal dreams. Odd dreams. You had never dreamed about someone before. It's funny how you've could've had so many options yet a random man you picked without knowing shit about him other than him being attractive would be the one who would peaking your interest this much.

"you think it'll be much longer?"
"captain, i've only been at this for a few hours. you gotta give me a little more time."
a worried sigh and more relentless pacing was all you got in reply, but you weren't able to turn and see if your captain, eo, had paired it with a cross of his arms.
"y'know, we wouldn't even be down on this planet if you hadn't decided to cut through the middle of a battlefield," you spoke in between the sparks of your stick welder, trying your best to reattach pieces of the ship that had been shredded from laser fire.
that battlefield he had decided to tear straight through only half a day ago in the name of a "secret shortcut only the very most experienced captains knew about" was an ugly one.
the inky blackness of space had become littered with clusters of orange bursts of flames from exploding spacecrafts and the zip of lasers passing over, below, and through eo's spaceship.
by the time the ship had made it out to the other side and was set on a collision course towards a jagged green planet just beyond the carnage, the battle behind you had left only battered battle fleets in its wake.
eo didn't take too much time trying to defend himself to you or his crew about his haphazard decision. you knew he was a little too stubborn for that, especially when he shouted, "there's nothin' to worry about. we made it out, didn't we?" but you could tell he was starting to become more than a little anxious.
you two weren't exactly the types to have long, deep conversations about your darkest vices and insecurities in between your missions together, but eo wasn't exactly the hardest person to read.
he cared about his crew, but he also cared about seeing his missions through by any means necessary. every so often, the importance of the latter seemed to outweigh the former. when it did, everyone had to pay the price.
it wasn't the first time he threw himself, and by extension, you and the crew, into danger for the sake of a mission. you had been caught in plenty of fire fights, infiltrated countless intergalactic kingdoms, and even warded off a gang of space pirates ransacking the ship. this time, you were shocked any of you were alive.
now, you were here; sat outside the ship, kneeling in the sticky mud of a foreign planet and sweating bullets beneath your welding helmet, fighting to get the damage caused by the battle fixed and get the ship even semi-functional.
the rest of eo's crew kept themselves busy inside, trying their best to get the internal controls back online. eo wasn't much help in that regard, so they (very politely) ushered him outside to assist you. his "assisting," however, seemed to be restless pacing and pestering. you could see why his crew decided to make him your responsibility, lest he wreak more havoc on the already fragile internal controls deck.
"it was the quickest way to cut across the hubble deep field! we were outta options and needed to land quick, so i made a choice."
you paused for a moment, releasing the trigger on your stick welder and letting the crackle of electric sparks fizzle out. you stared deep into the cavernous crater you had been puzzle piecing back together for the better part of 3 hours.
"out of options?" you muttered, your tone absolutely drenched in disbelief at what the captain had said. you could feel your face beginning to burn hot with annoyance beneath your helmet, but kept your back to him and your face towards the damage.
"i'm not gonna get into a yelling match with you, captain, because i know you mean well. i know you well enough to say that."
you adjusted your grip on the handle of your welder, squeezing the trigger and reigniting the electrode.
"but if you ever put me or the crew in danger like that again, i'll get you discharged."
the sparks kicked up in full swing, and neither of you said a word to each other until the ship was operational again. if the crew had noticed, they didn't say a thing.
well, except hooter. you knew he'd check in on you sooner or later.
the ship had been cruising through star clusters and skirting between nebulae for a few days before eo finally conceded to the war of silence waging between the two of you.
it wasn't a dramatic confrontation like you had expected from him. no kicking the door to your quarters down, no shouting and finger pointing or "i'm the captain and what i say goes." it was much quieter than you had expected from him.
he gave you the courtesy of a warning knock before slowly pushing open the door to your room, a pair of brown eyes and a mop of black curls emerging from behind it.
you were sat on your bed, reviewing the repair notes you had put together after the crash landing a few days back. papers were stacked and spread across the bed, the side table, the floor, anywhere that had space.
the documents were plentiful, and you knew your boss, commander bog, was going to want these when you got back to the cosmodrome the ship had left from. he was sure to be up to his neck in reports by the time the ship would return.
eo nudged the door open a little further, stepping halfway into the room and pulling you from your daze of documents, dates, and damage details. his eyes darted around your quarters, gloved hands fidgeting with each other.
"can i come in? just to talk for a little bit."
he didn't wait too long for an answer, entering the room fully and shutting the door behind him. he stood there, hands still fumbling with each other, and kept his back practically against the door.
you hadn't ever seen him so visibly anxious before. he had a hard time keeping his eyes straight ahead, and his posture was tight. he looked like a child psyching himself up to tell his parents he had accidentally broke something.
the lights in the room were low, but you could still catch the redness that had settled on his cheeks and bridged across his nose.
"i just, ah-" he had started, shifting his weight from foot to foot.
"i just wanted to, y'know...apologize. for the crash, and putting you all in danger the other day."
part of you knew he was here to give you something like an apology. that same part knew it was going to be short and sweet, and you were disappointed to find yourself proven right.
you readjust yourself on your bed, turning your body towards him with a tilted head and narrowed eyes.
"you're saying all this because i told you i'd get you discharged, aren't you?"
his eyes finally snapped forward and locked onto yours, his eyebrows furrowing worriedly. his mouth could only produce what sounded like half-choking and half-scoffing stutters.
"i'm right, aren't i? if i hadn't told you i'd get you discharged, you wouldn't be here,"
you felt an agitated smile of disbelief start to form on your face.
"you're only sorry because the ddsa board would take your piloting license and send you packing to some rotten wasteland of a burner planet for causing them so much trouble all these years."
okay, that last part wasn't necessarily the typical course of action for the board of the department of deep space activity. in truth, eo would likely be sent to work on the ground for the ddsa considering his plethora of galactic knowledge, but he had no way of knowing.
eo was only half the enigma he made himself out to be to the rest of the galaxy, at least compared to your knowledge of him. commander bog had done you a great service by forwarding you eo's digital profile from the ddsa's pilot directory.
the profile gave you more insight into eo than he had ever given you willingly. it brought up his abnormally quick ascent in the galactic aviation academy on his home planet, his quick shipment across the trappist-1 star system to your own home planet, and his years of activity as a space pilot.
he climbed the ranks of the ddsa's piloting program faster than anyone in the department's history and was sent off to explore the cosmos just as quickly. until now, the punishments for his recklessness had been a scolding and a slap on the wrist. the possibility of discharge from the piloting program had never been in the same room as eo, let alone on the table.
the chance of being dumped on some abandoned dwarf planet drifting near the edge of the universe? that wasn't even within a 5-mile radius of eo. until now, at least, as far as he was aware.
to say your words made him tense would be the cosmos's greatest understatement. he looked as rigid as a corpse, like every fiber in his body was pulled taut, and the sheepish red glow that was once branded across his face drained into pale shock. he looked downright sick.
nevertheless, he gritted his teeth and spoke.
"i'm not apologizing to get outta trouble. i've already gotten hell from the ddsa. i'm apologizing because i am sorry, not because anyone makes me feel like i gotta be."
you kept your face as stone cold as you could manage, but you could feel your mind stirring up a storm of swears and confusion.
already gotten hell from the ddsa? you only ever knew them to give him a verbal warning, nothing to warrant him looking so...defeated. that was the only way you could describe it. defeated and defensive, like they had given him the scolding of a lifetime. maybe they did threaten to ship him off to the edge of space.
you knew him to be a little too prideful to offer an apology like this and not mean it. you were used to his "i'm sorry for being right," apologies, nothing where he put his ego to the side and actually admitted to doing anything wrong.
you felt your hard expression begin to crack. something about him looking so beaten down, so desperate for some kind of forgiveness, anything. it really made you wonder what the department had said to him to break him down this badly.
eventually, you broke. you sighed, frowning back at eo.
"i'm not gonna get you discharged. not that the board would take your license anyway, you're the only competent pilot they have left that hasn't been taken prisoner by space pirates or blown to pieces by a stray comet."
eo huffed in what you assume is relief, some of the tension rolling off of his shoulders. the corners of his mouth turned up ever so slightly, just enough to begin forming his dimples.
"and i appreciate you apologizing to me. i hope you gave your crew the same courtesy."
he nodded quickly, his small smile breaking into a wide, toothy grin. color quickly flooded back into his face, painting his skin a warm brown once again.
"i did, i promise. they told me they appreciated it too."
as his voice began to come back its normal peppy chirp, your face mirrored his with a smile. you watched his twitchy hands detach from each other and fold gently over his middle, and his anxious side-to-side rocking become an excited lift-and-drop on his toes.
"so, now that we've been up and moving for a few days, what's next on the agenda, captain?"
he crossed his arms over his chest, letting himself fall back against your quarter's door.
"y'know the supreme empress we defeated a few months back? with the big dungeon and the scary guardsmen?"
you narrowed your eyes slightly in question, still not losing your smile.
"yeah, 'course i do. hard to forget you almost getting sentenced to torture for a hundred years. why?"
eo looked almost giddy now.
"she's got a brother, twice as nasty, and we're on our way to see him."
﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋
this became WAYY more lore heavy and world build-y than i had anticipated, but i just kept going and going and never wanted to stop. remember kids: if you crash too many space ships, the department of deep space activity Will get you send you to the moon because earth jail just aint enough.
i hope you guys love reckless abandon captain eo as much as i do, he's my angel <33 hoping to get a solid storyline up n going for this series soon!!
SUMMARY: Captain Eo's eternal love is getting married to someone else. If he had the chance, he would have given you everything, the whole universe if you asked him to... [galatic princess reader]
WORD COUNT: 1,7k
GENRE/CONTENT: Angst, forbidden love, past implied smut, our reader and Eo were their firsts everything in life basically.
A/N: I don't know where this came from, I just know I'm so sad and depressed so enjoy this ass angst for Captain Eo because there's not enough fics about him here, so this is my little contribution /sobs
Oh, love.
That inexplicable feeling that blooms on every heart, pushing even the toughest and mighty of all to do stupid things in the vast galaxy.
Our Captain did everything for you.
So you see him, to know him, to love him.
He crashed unknown planets and stars to get precious stones for you, he sneaked to your palace even without your parent's approval of you seeing him, he almost got himself killed a bunch of times while on missions to outer space just to prove his worth to you…
All the medals, all the intergalactic crusades and all the times an alien attempted to kidnap him and his crew, risking their lives for your planet… he fought for you. Thinking about you. And in the end, the sacrifice wasn’t enough to choose him.
To make him the number one for something that actually mattered in his life.
You loved him, as much as your heart and your title allowed you to.
Love…
The word burns him like flames dancing on his feet, as if he was forced to kneel down on glass. And it cuts through his skin as he walks the halls of the palace, trying to bury deep down his own feelings. Because today, none of that matters. Just you, on your wedding day.
The afternoon is pretty. The sky around is orange, strokes of pink and purple surround the stars and the moons that illuminate the planet, subjects walk around getting ready for the biggest event in years, ready for when two kingdoms come to unite. The royal planners run to make every single detail perfect, perfuming your favorite flowers that hang on every column and balcony as they whisper of the newly soon to become weds.
It gives a warm vibe, opposite to what our captain feels, but he shoves it off like dust, bowing to the royal guards and every so often to anyone who would pass by with a charming smile as he wanders through the palace and its labyrinthine halls, a light, metal box on his hand.
Once he stops outside your bedroom door he knocks exactly three times before he hears your voice from the other side.
“You may come in.”
The captain does as he is told, entering those four walls he knows too well, but today, he is more cautious. For he is not the groom, and you will not be his bride, far from all his dreams.
Your eyes light up when you see him, lips curving into a smile. He notices you want to move, the slight tremble of your hands in position to run toward him betrays you, but you stop midthought. Ever since your engagement was announced, things were never the same.
Sneaking into your palace to talk about all and nothing, sharing tight hugs and tickling fights, admiring the stars on a balcony while your arms touched, sitting down next to each other while you discovered new planets at the library, stealing kisses and a touch, sometimes even more than that…
That had to stop. It was a silent accord you both agreed to without voicing out.
“You look beautiful,” Eo whispers.
His eyes take in the sight of your dress, garnished in jewelry and star dust conceived just for you, the heiress of the throne. The crown on your head lets him know you are not in the same stratum.
You swallow down.
“Thank you…”
“I have something for you,” he says as he gets closer in slow strides. He opens the metal box and there’s the most delicate bracelet made with sunstone.
“Oh, it’s so pretty,” you gasp, fingers tracing down each brilliant gem. “I must wear it today, can you help me?”
With a slight shake in his hands, he takes the bracelet out, placing it on your left wrist. He notices it matches the wedding ring on your finger, a familiar ache on his chest. He is about to pull away when you take his hand on yours, so soft and warm, as he always remembers your touch.
You are closer than appropriate now. Eo inhales the scent of your perfume, invading his nostrils and he gets intoxicated by your smell. His eyes hold your gaze, he knows you want to talk. Say something, because he waits for about ten seconds that feel like light years.. It takes you longer than anticipated before the words finally come out.
“I still love you. I'm so sorry,” you mumble.
A single tear falls from the corner of your eye.
There is a knot down his throat, but he shakes his head and wipes your cheek, pretending to be strong, acting like it never didn’t matter. You wrap your arms around him, crying on his shoulder as he embraces your figure with his arms. He hates this, hates seeing you like this, hates how it's making you feel… but both of you knew this would happen, and still you went along with it anyway.
“Oh no, I spoiled your suit,” you say as you break the hug.
“Hey, it’s okay, don’t cry on your special day,” he chuckles under his breath, but the sadness in his eyes cannot be hidden anymore.
His thumbs clean the tears on your skin, and you remain close. You can't smile back but don’t push him away either, you stay safe under his touch, as you have been plenty of times before.
And you realize this is the last time you would see him before leaving for a foreign land, as thus was your duty, and Eo made sure you knew he understood from the start. Since forever. His capability of accepting that you would be vowed to marry someone else someday though, was not coupling with his heart.
Feelings mustn't be mixed with duties, he was told one day at the academy.
Oh, how wrong he got it.
Still standing there, Eo cups your face between his hands, his touch warm and soft as you would always remember. If anyone was to walk through that door, you might be doomed to be seen with another man other than your fiancé in such a compromising position.
But at this moment, you don’t care. So you lean and plant a last kiss on his lips. You know you shouldn't have, but his hand at the nape of your neck and bodies pressing together even made you forget about anything else around. The kiss was just a prohibited gesture so intimately deep, a proof that your bond was being ripped apart by a wicked fate.
When you break away, he presses his forehead on yours, eyes closed and inhaling air deeply, filling his lungs.
He sees his whole life with you.
The first time he met you in the gardens of the palace, the first kiss you shared as teenagers, every prank you would pull up to the guards and your nanny, the lonely nights at the studio when you would help him prepare for the academy…
He remembers vividly when you grew up, and he stopped seeing you as a friend.
Something sparked inside of him when he noticed you were not a little girl anymore, and so he wasn’t. The kisses were no longer innocent, not playful. They were passionate, like a dancing flame which couldn't be stopped even with all the oceans in the galaxy. And then it happened, in this same bedroom you were saying goodbye. And it kept going on countless times. In your bed, in the library at night, in the mountains you'd take trips to, in the soft grass of the loneliest of the gardens of the palace outside under the moonlight…
‘Someday, I'll give you all the stars you see and this will be our universe’, those were his words after one night in your gardens. You slept clinging to his chest with a blanket covering your naked bodies, until sunrise welcomed you with dumb smiles on your faces.
Every time with you was the closest he has ever been to heaven and now he was losing it in a blink of an eye.
Eo pulls away, cupping your jaw softly.
“Do you remember our first kiss?” you ask.
He chuckles under his breath, making you laugh.
“That was my messiest kiss ever,” Eo says.
“You tasted like tangerine,” you scrunch your nose so slightly, faking disgust.
“Pardon me for my fruit preferences.”
You laugh again together, and then the quietness comes. You wish you had more time together like this.
“If you need me, you always know how to find me. I'll always be here for you,” he promises after a pause, a small chance in his heart that you would fly away and escape this hell with him.
“Thank you… I wish there was another way,” you whisper.
He knows that is not an option.
“Don't torture yourself with that. I am proud of you, my princess,” he smiles.
“And I'm proud of you, my captain.”
There's a knock on the door, maids asking if you are ready interrupt the intimate scene with the man of your dreams. Eo pulls away to a safe distance as you wipe your face again and straighten your dress before allowing the ladies to come in, who salute him back, knowing him well as a close friend of yours.
Eo fakes his composure, hands on his back once the maids are inside. The ladies are quick on fixing the dress tale and the crown on your head. Every detail is taken care of at the speed of light.
“Are you ready, your highness?” one of them questions.
The captain admires your figure, he can’t believe this is the end of your story. He was supposed to be the one.
But he has to remind himself he is not worth enough of being by your side, according to those stupid old-fashioned kingdom rules. Otherwise, he'd be the man marrying you today. His title comes nowhere close to where you are standing and it cuts him like a blade.
You give him a look and you nod to the maids.
“Yes, we shall go.”
“Of course, your highness.”
The maids bow and you begin to walk when the captain opens the doors.
He bows, the deepest bow you've ever seen in your life.
“Your highness,” he says, fighting the knot on his throat.
You grimace and nod before walking away down the hall. He knows you always hated when people treated you like that, especially him.
He stands there until your figure disappears under his eyes. It is the mark that puts a closure to your love affair, something that never really started.
In which Captain EO is trusted with the rescue of a beautiful princess… and absolutely anything goes as planned.
hellooo so I wrote this captain EO story since there are barely any fics of him out there and I love him way too much not to
I got reaaaally inspired by starwars, which I also love, however you don’t HAVE to be a fan to understand this.. (i stole the planets)
thats it! it’s a really cute enemies-to-lovers thing and i hope ya’ll like it!! 💕 its kinda long but not thaaaat long. also, im sorry if this is insanely cheesy for y’all but I feel like being a bit ridiculous IS the whole essence of captain EO. idk.. read at your own risk
Saving the Supreme Leader’s world had been an unarguable victory for Captain EO and his ragtag crew, helping them prove their worth to the Galactic Intelligence. Though the fear of being drummed out of the corps was still very much there. However, if they kept succeeding in their next missions, their positions should be permanently secured… hopefully.
This time, Commander Bog—against his better judgement—had trusted the Captain with a high-profile royal rescue…
Long story short, the Galactic Intelligence was on the verge of securing an alliance with Coruscant, a planet covered entirely by a massive city, that had an immense political influence. The planet's signature on the treaty would finally bring peace to the Cosmos.
However, a few days before the signing ceremony, their beloved princess was kidnapped by powerful space mercenaries and bounty hunters. For these, a peaceful galaxy would be bad for business so, by stealing the princess, they hoped to trigger a war between Coruscant and the Galactic Intelligence, in order to keep the galaxy unstable.
In brief, if EO fails, he would be starting a galactic war (and he’d definitely be drummed out of the corps this time).
With the galaxy on the brink of war, Commander Bog assigned EO and his crew the noble mission of rescuing the princess and safely returning her to her home planet. Bog made sure the captain understood the importance of the quest, and that if it had been up to him, they would have been his absolute last choice.
“Okay crew, listen up.. our last mission was a total success, which led to the higher-ups finally noticing us and what we’re capable of. This new assignment is the chance we have to prove ourselves so please, let’s not ruin it. I’m talking to you, Hooter..” EO said, giving the poor elephant-like alien a warning look. The rest of them chuckled.
The captain continued, “The princess is being held captive by a group of very bad guys based somewhere in Tatooine-”
The ship filled with the sounds of complaints at the mention of the desolated, desert planet, “oh, but we hate it there!” they yelled.
EO wanted to roll his eyes, but remained calm instead. “I know, I hate it too.. but we have to go. There’s a princess there who needs our help.” After getting no feedback from his crew-mates at all, he sighed. “Very well, then.. Uh, Major Domo, could you set our course to Tatooine, please?”
Once they’d arrived at the outer rim and were close enough to the sandy planet, the crew dropped out of lightspeed. As the ship began to descend through Tatooine’s atmosphere, the heat and friction made all of the screens turn red. the ship started to shake violently, “What’s going on..!??” EO yelled as he held onto the captain’s chair for dear life.
"We're losing control of the ship, Captain!” The robot yelled back, as he kept pressing buttons that seemed to be useless, "The engines are locking up!”
“What!? I thought we had fixed those after leaving the supreme leader's world!”
Hooter let out a guilty squeak, as he covered his eyes with his ears and shrunk into his seat.
“HOOTER!!” The captain snapped, but didn’t have time to reproach him for it. “Everyone hold on to your seats, this is not going to be a smooth landing!” ..without any engine power to slow them down, the descent was brutal. The ship slammed into the desert with a terrifying speed, leaving the starship dead and buried in the sand, miles away from their destination.
“Is everyone alright..?” EO asked, listening to the sound of sand falling somewhere and metal cooling down. He settled with the weak ‘yeah’s’ he got in response and got up onto his feet, putting on his signature cape “Alright, no time to lose then.”
Captain EO and Hooter began their journey, leaving behind the rest of the crew so they could find a way to repair the ship. It would be a long, long walk… lucky for them, the suns were beginning to set.
They made their way through the harsh desert, the landscape changing from endless dunes to rocky canyons. EO would periodically communicate with the crew, asking for updates on the state of the ship and the repairings… which were going awful.
Hours later, they reached the coordinates of where the bounty-hunters were supposedly located. The captain and his crew-mate settled behind a few rocks, resting and taking their time to analyse the scenery before them.. there it was. The makeshift base they had been looking for. It was a dusty station, just thrown in the middle of nowhere and built out of recycled starships and garbage.. It was even worse than EO imagined. The ships and vehicles of whoever were in there parked around.
Hooter made a disapproving sound at the sight, disgusted and scared of the place.
“I know, Hooter.. I’m sorry but we’re gonna have to go in there.” EO told him, “if we manage to blend in with the others it would be great but..” he paused, looking at the mottled green elephant next to him and realizing that going in there unnoticed was practically impossible (not that his all-white suit and cape helped either), “but, uhm.. i doubt that’s going to be possible,” The captain sighed, “So, we gotta be ready for anything. Remember, we must do everything in our power to keep the princess safe.. understood?” –The elephant nodded– “Alright..” EO gave him a small smile, “..did you bring your synthesizer? –Hooter nodded again– “Okay, good. We might need it.. Let 's go.”
The inside of the station was just as messy as the outside. Dimly lit, smoky and loud.. the walls were made of mismatched pieces of metal, and cables hung from the ceiling. It was packed with the worst kind of scum, bounty-hunters cleaning their rifles or playing cards, and rusty droids walking around.
When EO and Hooter walked in, the chatter in the room stopped, and a heavy silence fell. All heads turned to look at the pristine guy who had just entered, walking side by side with a short green alien. To say they stuck out is an understatement.
They started to walk casually through the crowd, trying their best to ignore the death-stares.. The princess could be spotted immediately, at the far end of the hangar. She was being kept like a trophy, locked inside a glowing energy cage where everyone could see her.
Before the captain could even think of something, a massive mercenary stepped in front of him, blocking their path. More men slowly started to surround them, trapping them in the middle.. They began drawing their blasters, and EO realized they wouldn’t be able to get out of this without a fight. He locked eyes with the princess and shouted at the top of his lungs, “Princess! hold on! we’re here to save you!”
Before anyone could shoot, the captain yelled “Hooter, now!” and stepped forward to channel his light. Hooter slammed his hands onto his synthesizer and an infectious, electronic song began playing.
The whole room burst out laughing at how ridiculous this all looked.. however, the laughter ended when EO, with a spin, shot a blast of glowing energy to the control panel of the cage and freed the princess. He started kicking and punching to the music’s rhythm, fighting the mercenaries and knocking off their weapons.
They kept fighting, while keeping the princess close, but the crowd was getting too big. While he dodged a blaster bolt, EO began screaming to the crew-mates of the ship through his comlink “Major Domo, tell me the ship is flying already! We have the princess. We need you to come pick us up NOW!”
The captain, the princess and Hooter burst out of the base, running as fast as they could into the open desert while a dozen of very angry men came after them.
They looked up at the sky.. Nothing. The ship wasn’t there yet.
“Wait, where the hell is your ship!!??” The princess cried out, “who are you..!!?”
“It’s uh- It’s coming! Hopefully!” EO shouted back, “And I’m captain EO! Sent from the galactic intelligence to save you, princess-” before he could continue, he had to throw himself to the poor lady to save her from being shot, both of them falling down to the sand “CAREFUL!” He yelled.
Then, a loud roar began echoing from the sky. It was the crew’s ragged starship, descending as the side cargo door slid open. The crew waved at them frantically.
“There they are! Princess, Hooter.. RUN!!” EO said, grabbing the princess by the arm and running with her.
“That thing!!!??” She yelled, not believing these were the guys sent to rescue her. “..why is it smoking!!!???”
“Uhh- It’s a long, long story!” EO chuckled embarrassedly.
The ship didn’t even land, it just hovered a few feet above the moving sand.
Once they were close enough, the captain picked Hooter up and literally threw him inside the moving ship. Then, with a bit more delicacy, helped the princess get in too. EO jumped in later.
The crew received them, helping them get up and closing the doors. The ship rocketed back into the sky, leaving the mercenaries and Tatooine behind..
After the horrible, chaotic experience they’d just lived, the crew was finally able to relax. Nobody was chasing them with blasters anymore. EO sighed, and finally got to get a real look at the princess.. He watched as Fuzzbucket flew around her, helping get the Tatooine dust off of her clothes and hair. That’s when the captain realized how truly beautiful she was. He noticed how the orange lighting of the ship illuminated her features perfectly, and the way her elegance remained unbroken.. even after everything they’d just been through.
Right when EO’s brain was about to short-circuit, Hooter caught him staring like a dummy and gave him a cheeky expression, making a noise similar to a teasing ‘awww’. The captain snapped out of his trance and quickly shushed him, hoping nobody else had noticed the way he’d been gawking at her.
The captain took a step forward and cleared his throat, catching the crew’s attention. “allow me to officially welcome you aboard, your Highness. Rest easy, princess, for you are safe now. Captain EO, at your service..” he said, giving the princess a small bow before continuing. “this is my elite crew, uh-” EO stopped there, noticing the whole crew trying to hold back their laughter at his dramatic presentation.
The captain inhaled deeply, “Alright uhm, well that’s Hooter. Over there we have major and minor Domo, Idy, Ody, and that’s Fuzzbucket..”
“And we’re an absolute mess right now, m’lady” One of them said, and EO pinched the bridge of his nose before arguing, “We’re not an absolute mess. We’re just going through a hard time, that is all”
The princess chuckled lightly, already aware of the disaster these guys were and seeing right through the captain’s act. However, she didn’t seem to be in a great mood. She had been kidnapped, spent days inside a cage, and now this was her rescue?? “Okay…” she began, crossing her arms and looking around at the smoky, broken ship, “So, Captain EO.. if this is such an elite vanguard, should I be expecting the roof of this junk to cave in, or does that only happen on special occasions?”
EO frowned, crossing his arms right back at her. “Well.. for your information, princess, this ‘junk’ just managed to pull off a flawless rescue. A little gratitude wouldn’t hurt.”
She scoffed, “Flawless..? Captain, you knocked me off onto the sand, nobody was there when we needed it, and your ship is falling apart!”
“I was trying to save your life– there were blasters pointing at you!”
The princess simply rolled her eyes, and the captain’s jaw dropped. “I would expect a baseline level of respect from someone whose life I’ve just saved. you’re under my protection, princess-”
“Oh, you can drop the act..” she interrupted, “it doesn’t really match with the smell of burning grease” then, the princess turned to the rest of the crew and gave them a small smile, “As for the rest of you, I do want to thank you for getting me out of there. you’re all very sweet”
It was EO’s turn to roll his eyes now. In fact, the man would’ve kept arguing if, well… the ship weren’t falling apart.
He took a step back and started to discuss the state of the ship with the robot. Lightspeed wasn’t working, and neither were the communicators with the higher-ups.. they would have to travel for at least a few days to reach the nearest planet, where they could stop and repair the damage. EO would also have to deal with the fact that they were about to disappear, with the princess, for days.. but that was a problem he’d deal with in the future.
When it was time to inform the crew about the upcoming events, their reactions were exactly what EO had expected. Nobody liked the news at all, and the room filled with dramatic sighs and groans.
“Days..?” The princess repeated, glaring at the captain as if he had personally broken the ship himself. “You’re telling me I'm gonna be trapped here for days, and nobody in the whole galaxy even knows where we are..!?”
“Hey, it’s not a vacation for me either, your highness” He shot back, turning towards the whole crew again. “But… I haven’t told you the best part yet. Guess where we’re stopping at to get the provisions?”
No response.
The captain continued anyway, “Naboo! You guys like that planet, right..?” EO informed. The change in the room was instant, all of them did love that planet. It was pretty, there was good food, and it was safe.
The princess however, simply crossed her arms tighter. “Ah, terrific.. just a bunch of lakes and grass.”
EO’s eyes narrowed, and his smile faltered. Of course her highness, who came from a whole city planet, wouldn’t like the idea of paradise.
The next few days settled into a slow and strange routine. Since the ship wasn’t very big, and they weren’t used to having guests, EO gave the princess his private quarters. It was the only separate room from the main cabin, where the rest of the crew slept.
The captain’s bedroom wasn’t big or fancy, but it was well-kept and very tidy. A small bed next to the wall, perfectly tucked blankets, a few trinkets here and there he’d probably collected on their missions, and his white cape— perfectly hung in a corner.
“Hm… I thought it would be worse. I was genuinely expecting to sleep over a pile of engine parts” she commented when EO showed her the room, her voice teasing.
“Well I’m glad it meets your royal standards, your highness.” He replied, sarcastically.
The lady rolled her eyes at him as she made her way inside the room, analysing every little detail.. Then, she paused for a second, as if debating whether to say something.. “thank you.” She finally said, quietly, giving him the smallest of smiles before sliding the door shut.
EO stared at the closed door for a long moment, a faint smile forming on his face against his will. He quickly shook his head though, making his way to the main cabin and to the captain chair, where he’d uncomfortably be sleeping for the next few days.
Throughout the journey, the princess quickly started bonding with the crew– everyone besides EO. She would spend hours sitting by the largest window, watching the stars while Fuzzbucket curled next to her. Hooter also stayed near, showing the princess his favorite snacks and toys, making her chuckle.
The captain however, had to watch that from afar. The moment he’d step closer, the sweet and kind princess would disappear, because they just couldn’t stop poking at each other. Every interaction they had was a competition to see who would get the last word, they couldn’t even pass each other in the hallways without exchanging some kind of remark. If she spent too long looking through the window, EO would comment that he hoped the view wasn’t too boring for a big-city girl, and whenever he’d offer her something to eat, the princess would raise her brow disgustedly and ask if it was safe for human consumption. It was exhausting, but secretly, it was the only thing keeping the long days interesting for them.
At the end of the fourth day inside the ship, EO and the princess seemed to be especially irritable. The ship had almost reached Naboo, they could even see the planet through the windows. However, the whole day had passed, and they still weren’t close enough to start landing.
Anyways.. right now, they were immersed in a particularly petty argument about the princess strongly believing she could’ve escaped the mercenaries herself.
“It’s true! I had the lock of the cage figured out already! Instead, you came along and thought that almost killing me with that weird magic of yours was a great idea-”
EO interrupted her with a dramatic groan, “I was NOT trying to kill you, your highness. I was saving your life! Besides, how would’ve you escaped, huh..? A bobby pin from your hair?”
“Well.. maybe!”
“Are you joking? That cell was made of high voltage magnetic locks, a bobby pin would’ve melted the second you touched them!
“It would have not! Those were standard locks!”
“No, they were NOT!” That’s when the captain finally snapped, he just couldn’t believe she was being serious. “You know what, princess? You can’t just get away with being ridiculously difficult and ungrateful just because you have a gorgeous face and some royal-title!” He was yelling.
The princess scoffed loudly at that, getting up from her seat and stepping closer to him. “Oh and you can’t expect everyone to bow down to your ridiculous ego just because you’re a stupidly handsome captain, with an even stupider glowing shirt!” She yelled back.
As soon as the words left her mouth, a suffocating silence fell over the ship. Even the rest of the crew seemed to be shocked. EO blinked, and the princess’s eyes widened. Both of them realizing they’d admitted out loud they thought the other was attractive.
Before any of them could scramble for an excuse, major Domo interrupted from behind the controls, “Uh, Captain..?”
The captain swallowed and turned around, “..y-yeah?”
“We’re ready to start descending the atmosphere. Since the ship isn’t in its best conditions, everyone should go to their designated seats. Please.”
Usually, when those words left the robot’s mouth, everyone would cheerfully start sitting down. Instead, the crew quietly took their places, getting ready for landing without saying a word.
However, EO chuckled to himself as he sat on the captain’s chair. His face plastered with a triumphant smirk that made the princess’s blood boil.
The landing on Naboo went surprisingly well. It was a bit messy, and the ship was clearly struggling, but nothing bad happened.. A total success, in EO’s words.
As they landed, the princess realized they weren’t remotely close to the city, and instead had landed near some sort of town. “Uhh, Captain.. do you even know where we are..? The capital is miles away.”
“Yep, I know that.” He said as he got up from his seat, “Trust me, it’s better here. Besides, I know a guy here who can help us with the ship.. A great friend, with even better prices.” said EO, giving her a confident wink.
The crew finally stepped off the ship after days of being trapped inside. It was late afternoon in Naboo, and not even the princess could deny how beautiful the planet was.. It was warm, and the soft breeze carried the scent of blooming flowers and fresh water from the lakes and meadows nearby. The town itself was also charming, with stone paths and glowing lanterns.
Everyone was happy. The captain watched as the princess admired the scenery before her, and smiled lightly. “Told you it was better here”, he told her, lightly bumping her in the elbow as he walked past her and guided the crew into the town. She snorted lightly, starting to walk along with the crew..
First, they went to find EO’s contact. It was an old droid who ran a repair shop on the edge of town. Apparently, he was a good friend of the crew.
As they negotiated the repairs, the princess stood back and watched the way EO talked to people. She had only seen him shouting orders and bickering with her, but he seemed entirely different now. The man was kind and polite.. treating everyone with genuine respect and a smile that wouldn’t leave his face.
She felt a strange warmth in her chest as she realized the captain was starting to grow on her.
By the time they were done with the repairs issue, the sun was beginning to set. The crew started complaining to the captain that they were hungry. He chuckled, “Alright, alright.. why don’t we go to that place you guys like, hm?” –everyone cheered– “oh princess, you’re gonna love this place..”
Along the way, Hooter spotted a patch of flowers. With a grin, the little elephant picked up a few and gifted them to the princess. She gasped softly as she knelt down to thank him, “Aw, Hooter. Thank you so much,” While she spoke, Fuzzbucket flew around her and gently tucked a few of the flowers into her hair.
EO chuckled at the scene, a warm smile on his face. “Suits you.”
The princess smiled back, chuckling too. “Thanks”
As they kept walking side by side, the tension between the two began to melt, silently agreeing to stop the fighting for a while. While they were in Naboo, at least.
The captain led them to a cozy, dimly lit diner near the lake. It was a local place they absolutely loved.
The princess was slightly hesitant at first, but as they walked in, EO leaned closer to her and whispered teasingly. “hey, I promise it doesn’t taste like engine grease..”. She chuckled lightly, a tiny grin forming on her face.
The crew found a big table, sitting around it. The princess and the captain sat directly across from each other, and throughout the whole dinner, they couldn’t stop stealing glances from each other and quickly looking away with small smiles… Once the food had disappeared, the conversation at the table naturally flowed into their chaotic days inside the ship and, more specifically, to the constant fights between EO and her majesty. The crew kept teasing them for having fought so much, loudly joking that it was because they both secretly liked each other.
“Oh, please.. I could never!” She laughed, dismissing everything.
“Yeah, definitely not. We’re far too different..” The captain added, shaking his head and looking down with a huge smile.
They both denied it all, but their constant chuckles made the lie even more painfully obvious…
Eventually, the crew began to grow tired, deciding it was time to head back to the ship and get some rest. Everyone was still exhausted from the journey.
“You guys go ahead, we’ll be right there,” EO told them as he stood up and offered his arm to the princess, “I’m sure our lady needs a little fresh air after all that food..?”
She gave him a warm smile before taking his arm and nodding, “Yeah, yeah.. you guys go ahead.”
The captain slowly led her to the edge of town, where a gorgeous lake met the grass. “I’m sorry about the crew’s jokes,” EO said softly, looking down at the path. “they don’t have much of a filter.”
The princess chuckled and shook her head, “no, don’t worry about it. they have all been so sweet to me, i’ve already grown so fond of them”
They had reached the shore, “..wanna sit down?” He asked, taking off his cape and setting it over the grass.
She smiled, teasing him as they sat down next to each other, facing the lake that reflected the moonlight and stars. “wow, you’re acting like such a gentleman tonight”
“Ah, it’s just the Naboo effect. It’ll go away”
The princess affectionately rolled her eyes at him, before focusing her gaze on the water.. “I’ve started to like it, you know?” She admitted quietly, “The mess, the chaos.. the warmth you have all offered. It’s so different from what I’m used to.”
EO smiled warmly, looking at her gorgeous profile. “I’m glad… though I’m sure you’re dying to get back to your fancy planet already” He joked, but the princess didn’t laugh. Instead, she went awfully quiet, a sad expression settling on her face… Then, the wave of reality finally hit him.
Neither of them wanted to accept that after tonight, once the ship and communicators were fixed, their journey together would have to end. The beautiful bubble they were living in would break, and there was nothing either of them could do about it.. She’d have to go back to her royal duties, and the captain would probably get yelled at by commander Bog.
The silence between them grew heavy, charged with everything they hadn’t said. “Hey… don’t be sad.” EO spoke softly, carefully reaching out to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear, right next to one of the flowers Fuzzbucket had placed there earlier. The captain smiled lightly, “...you’re gorgeous.” He whispered.
His hand lingered on her cheek, and the princess looked up at him. She didn’t pull away, leaning into his touch instead.. They stared into each other eyes for a few seconds, and EO’s gaze dropped to her lips, giving her all the time in the world to pull away if she wanted. She didn’t.
Finally, EO leaned in slowly. His warm hand still held her by the cheek, and the princess’s eyes fluttered shut.. feeling the way EO’s lips gently brushed against hers.
They kissed under the moonlight– softly at first, a sweet admission of everything they’d been hiding behind their bickering, before deepening into something passionate, romantic and entirely breathless.
@stup1dluver4evr has a hc that captain eo is a shapeshifter and it made me think. this universe is loosely based off mass effect (goated game btw play it if you havent)
Humans were the latest species to join the intergalactic world, having only advanced enough in space science to finally discover other intelligent life 30 years ago. Other aliens were established for far longer.
Captain EO's species evolved from a parasitic one, which was how they got their shapeshifting nature. They don't really have a true form, rather the individual alien will imitate another intelligent species of its choosing.
This has led to them being generally distrusted and stereotyped as tricksters. However overall the species is just curious and enjoys gaining knowledge about other worlds. It's theorised a good percentage of space scientists and explorers of other species are actually of EO's species.
Captain EO gravitated towards humanity, as not much was known about them. And once he found out about music, he got obsessed.
Captain EO is basically the alien equivalent of those American chuds obsessed with Japan. Except Japan is the whole of Earth.
Everything that he learns about Earth and humans is from alien scientists and the space web, as humans don't travel out that far and haven't moved into intergalactic hubs, apart from a few researchers and space military.
Captain EO runs into you by chance. You were a captured human on a planet he was sent to help.
When he meets you, he is incredibly giddy. You're the first human he's ever met! He wants to find out so much about you!
At first you think he's just a weird, socially unaware guy. It checks out for the type to join the space side of science. Regardless, you're glad the government decided to send someone after you.
But the more you talk, the more you get a feeling he isn't a human.
