hey, I see you're getting back into the PJO books and you're worried about them being bad and nobody having fun with them, so i wanted to let you know I'm still having fun with them. I'm 32 and I found the TOA books delightful! I don't know much about the newer books but I can tell you I loved TOA.
yay!! I love when people have fun with things, even if I’m not into it. And it’s always nice to meet a fellow 30-something on this hellsite lol
So far I have read the first two toa books and did enjoy them! as a leo stan I am disappointed about a lot of stuff surrounding him but Apollo’s pov is so silly and fun to read and yknow im just a sucker for shenanigans involving monsters and prophecies and power ballads, etc. I am taking a break from the series at the moment to read something else but I am going to go back and finish it soon.
Anyway, thanks for the good vibes! there seems to be a lot of negativity in the pjo fandom, which is a bit sad for someone coming into it basically for the first time, but I also totally get it cause I’ve been a jaded fan for other fandoms lol. A lot of longtime fans seem to dislike the new tv series, which I also understand, and I share the frustrations now that I’ve reread the original books. but the show is what inspired me to want to do that in the first place and I find it enjoyable as sort of separate thing, I guess. At this point I’m just trying to keep an open mind and see what I like! I’ll likely read the senior year trilogy and possibly the Nico books and if I don’t like them then whatever, I’ll just ignore them lol
