Graduate Student Stiles Stilinski is  alone as he studies in New York- well, aside from his only friend in the City. Derek lives in the same apartment building, and circumstances mean they will both be spending Thanksgiving alone. When Derek suggests they spend it together, Stiles jumps on the idea.

The only problem? Neither one of them can cook.

Note: I’ve been sitting on this rec waiting for this day for months (probably from around the time I started this blog in February!). It’s a nice piece of fluff with a snowstorm, a power outage and candles, perfect whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not.

This is so good. I'm curious as to where you might see Queerplatonic or platonic soulmates fitting into this scope, since you do mention that bit of racism with shipping the white/poc interracial couple romantically.

tbh i LOVE queerplatonic holsom fics and i don’t think it at alllllll falls in the same scope as what i’m talking about. in the mcu, the “oh i just see sam as straight idk” thing is just an excuse to make him less important in steve’s life. people don’t care about sam so they relegate him to a minor character. (& same with rhodey obvi). the problem is the sidelining, not necessarily making him straight in and of itself, you know?

so platonic soulmates can go either way for me--if it’s just a side mention in a bigger fic (about zimbits or somethin), it’s at best basically neutral to me. if someone wrote a fic that focused on platonic soulmates rans and holster, that’s still pretty fucking cool.
