Finished my caracal drawing, he is hanging out on the banks of the Nile in Egypt. I wanted him to look stoic.😂❤😺 These beautiful cats are native to North Africa.

Название «каракал» пошло от турецкого слова karakulak. Что в переводе означает «черные уши»😊 Уже в далекие времена каракалов умели приручать. А кошки и не сопротивлялись. Правда, ходили с ними на охоту люди с не очень большим достатком. Богачи же отправлялись в непроходимые леса с гепардами. Каракалы ловили птицу, зайцев и даже небольших антилоп. От обычных кошек они отличаются тем, что не мурлыкают, они больше чирикают, как птицы. Несмотря на то, что каракал - большой и достаточно грозный кот, характер у него мягкий и покладистый. Если он живет в доме, то ничем не отличается от обычной кошки - любит играть, подставлять ушко, чтобы его погладили, и просто не переносит одиночества. Каракалы очень ласковые и любят общаться с хозяином. А еще они хорошо ладят с детьми-подростками. Уживаются и с домашними питомцами. Вот такие они красавчики каракалы. А этого и выгуливать не надо. Ah what a sighting by @gkphoto2020! We’ve been lucky enough to see all sorts of rare beasts across African national parks but never a caracal! And what a stunning animal it is too. A mid-sized cat, standing about 50cm at the shoulder, it’s far more robust than a wild cat and has the characteristic long-tufted ears. Nocturnal and secretive, any sighting is to be treasured. They can jump 3m into the air to pick off a bird in flight and will stalk small prey before running it down for a more terrestrial hunting technique.
